Session I proved to be a huge success making Fellows anxiously anticipating whats to come… March 18 - 21
The Journey of an Agile Leader March 18 Sunday, March 18, 2018 was the kick-off of NAAWLI’s 2018 Leadership Program. After a formal Meet and Greet with NAAWLI’s Board of Directors, NAAWLI’s Alumni Fellows, Facilitators and 2018 Fellows, Executive Director, Pamela Estes welcomed everyone and stated that she could tell that this will be a powerful group! Each entered the room as an Agile Leader, immediately introducing themselves to everyone in their presence. Again, I’m exited to be a part of their leadership development journey. Welcome 2018 Fellows!
Keynote speaker, MiShon Landry, Certified Diversity Profession and owner of Culture Consultants, located in Dallas-Fort Worth, followed with a wonderfully spoken and engaging story of how Agile Leadership played an integral role in her professional career journey and personal life.

NAAWLI’s past Alumni Fellows shared their experiences in the program and provided insight on upcoming sessions. The 2017 Fellows presented our 2018 class with a book, Executive Presence by Sylvia Ann Hewlett, as part of NAAWLI’s “Pay It Forward” initiative.
Gender and Race in the Workplace March 19 The 2018 Fellows were very fortunate to have Dr. Ashleigh Rosette, Associate Professor of Management and Organizations and a Center of Leadership and Ethics scholar at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as one of NAAWLI’s facilitators. Dr. Rosette, also a Fellow at the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity and Gender in the Social Sciences and a member of the Duke Corporate Education Global Learning Resource Network, provided key insight
of how biases hinder women’s progression to leadership positions.

“Dynamic, Inspirational, Relevant, Applicable, Relatable!!! Information received will be invaluable in my judicious responsibility to lead my multicultural team of project managers. Team Building Activity
March 20
According to Webster, Team Building is the action or process of causing a group of people to work together effectively as a team, especially by means of activities and events designed to increase motivation and promote cooperation. Include “Chef Joey” in the mix and you are guaranteed an awesome experience!
Chef Joey Allette is an accomplished Top Chef notably featured on the Food Network, as well as a culinary favorite in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Chef Joey brings passion for cooking and entertaining to Team Building with Taste, a venue with state-of-the-art commercial kitchens and event spaces. Chef Joey believes we all have a creative side and a calling in life, and it just so happens that sharing the love of cooking is his true talent and his life’s calling.
NAAWLI’s 2018 Fellows had the pleasure of participating in a tremendous team building activity. The Fellows were assigned to teams and given a “chef” mentor. The Fellows were ready for the challenge but was especially excited to learn that Master Chef’s Season 4 winner Luca Manfe would serve as one of the mentors!
