Highlands water project Lesotho, Africa. Needs-based operation. The Task: To transfer water from rain-rich Lesotho to the drier industrial region of South Africa around Johannesburg. The water is taken from the Mohale Dam and transported 32 km to the Katse Dam. Pumping station Tuzla, Turkey Reliable sewage disposal. The Task: The municipal sewage treatment facility in Tuzla cleans sewage produced by 4.5 million residents from 7 regions in the dormitory towns around Istanbul. Sewage collection is ensured by means of 2 separate subterranean sewer systems. Afterwards, the sewage must be raised above a level gap of -8.47 m to supply it to the wastewater treatment plant. 2 pump stations are in continuous use here. The Solution: Wilo supplied reliable submersible pumps of type Wilo-EMU FA 50. All pumps are fitted with a ceramic coating here.

Anpara power plant, India. Efficiency writ large. The Task: The Anpara power plant is the largest one in Uttar Pradesh with an output of 1,630 MW. Plants of this size need a continuous supply of very large amounts of coolant The Solution: Wilo developed its most powerful system yet. Each one of the 5 pipe housing pumps in Anpara delivered a flow of 35.600 m続/h. Besides the very high flow rate, the customer also specified a very high efficiency level of 90%.

In the exact climate control of special office, production or storage spaces and low-temperature applications, Wilo pumps have also shown their worth – also in fire extinguisher systems and water supply, disposal and treatment. The Task: Following the expansion of the warm water rolling mill, the increased production increased the load on the scale-forming water from 8,000 to 11,000 m³/h. This made a second circuit necessary. The Solution: A highly wear resistant Wilo-EMU FA 30 submersible motor pump came into use. It managed a service life of over one year and was easily replaced by two technicians in just two days. A comparison with previously installed standard pumps: a considerable reduction in life cycle costs.

Paulaner Brauerei GmbH & Co KG, Munich, Germany. Brewery water supply on tap. The Task: For brewing and additional process steps, such as e. g. bottle cleaning, the brewery needs around 900,000 m³ water per year. This high water requirement should be met by 5 up to 240m deep wells. The Solution: Each well was equipped with a multistage heavy-duty submersible pump Wilo-EMU N 82 . From a depth of 80 m these 5 pumps serve the fluctuating water demand during running beer production. The variable speed pump controls with frequency converters ensure needs-based and an extremely energy-efficient water supply.
