About us N2 (UK) Ltd was first started in March 2013 by two director/owners of the medical manufacturing facility Global Orthopaedics UK Ltd. In 2013 it became apparent to us a dedicated company was required to deal solely with the veterinary industry, one that could dedicate time and money to research, development, and intellectual property protection, whilst Global Orthopaedics focused on maintaining its high quality and regulated manufacturing facility to both the veterinary and human markets. Thus N2 (UK) Ltd was born. Neil Walters and Nick Gardener have both been at the forefront of medical human and veterinary orthopaedic device manufacture and design with over 30 years of experience between them. Nick remains MD of Global Orthopaedics while also being heavily involved in N2’s design and marketing. Neil Is CEO of N2 UK Ltd ensuring the smooth running of the company, while also maintaining his role at Global Orthopaedics as Regulatory Affairs Director. Having control of both facilities enables us to coordinate manufacture to sales demand and keep our distributors in stock with short lead times.

Orthopaedic Bone Screws The new edition of the catalogue brings some new head drive options for common Cortical screws. By popular demand and increased flexibility, our most common self Tapping Cortical screws have a choice of Hex Drive, Star Torx Drive or Cruciform. All of our screws are made using latest CNC Swiss Turning technology and sold equally in the Human Market. We only use raw materials from Europe or America which are fully certified to the latest ISO specifications and fully tested and chemically analysed prior to manufacturing . All of our Implants are periodically tested for bio burden contaminates to ensure our manufacturing processes meet stringent quality standards. All of our screws specifications are made to Strict Human ISO 5835 criteria. Although Veterinary Implants are not regulated we always insist they are made to Human quality control standards. There has always been an open invitation for visits to our manufacturing facilities to see exactly how the Implants are made or to discuss new ideas.

Made from Extra Hard Implant Material (Commonly used for Arthrodesis Wires +40% than standard Shaft Bone Screws). Retains shape and wear resistant. Dual Hex Drive. Main Drive is 3mm Hex with an emergency 1.5mm Hex Drive for recovery on opposite end. Offering Compression with cutting action flutes. The thread form is a modified HC (Locking Screw) from Human Ankle surgery.This screw greatly reduces previous complications of micro fractures, screw fatigue failure and reliability.

Kirschner Wires
Material
Unthreaded Kirschner Wires are supplied in several formats, Trocar point in which the tip is sharpened to a 3 facet point, Bayonet point which provides a spade drill for improved cutting, Triangular end to allow greater grip in the jaws of the drill, and Round end, plain finished with domed tip. Threaded, trocar pointed wires are also available for use as guide wires.

Steinmann Pins
Order Code explained
Used in skeletal traction for alignment and reduction of fractures, and with certain external fixation systems. Steinmann Pins are supplied either with a three facet trocar point or ‘spade drill type’ bayonet point. The ends of the pins are available either triangular or round.

They are also used to splint or bridge a fracture area to maintain the length of the bone. They can be used in conjunction with lag screws and can maintain alignment of highly comminute segments of bone (a fracture in which the bone is splintered or crushed into numerous pieces). Gaps in the bone may be present. When gaps are present, the plate with this type of fixation is subject to full loading. Therefore, every possible effort should be made to maintain soft tissue attachments and blood supply to the comminute fragments since union will depend on the formation of a callus bridge and not direct healing of the bone. All Plates are made from Stainless Steel ISO 5832-1

Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Instead of altering the slope of the tibial plateau, however, the TTA alters the point of insertion of the patellar tendon. Only part of the bone (the tibial tuberosity) is cut, “advanced” by means of a titanium cage, and secured with a plate and screws. This advancement acts to “tighten-up” the joint, alleviating the instability. A theoretical advantage of this procedure is its less-invasive nature — there is less surgical dissection of the soft tissues and the tibia is not cut within the weight-bearing axis. TTA cages have been proven to work just as effectively with a forkless plate and using standard cortical screws. Manufactured using Implant grade Titanium Alloy.

General Overview of the Evolox® Locking System
Benefits
Evolox® is an abbreviation of “Evolutionary Locking”
Low profile plates with smooth rounded edges reduce soft tissue irritation, and aid wound closure.
Designed to offer the surgeon a flexible solution for a wide range of fixation including, but not limited to Humerous, Femur, Ulna and Tibia.
Reduced soft tissue irritation
Plates with threaded locking holes manufactured at fixed angles are now widely used in Orthopaedic surgery, with the benefits of these mono-axial locking plates being universally documented and accepted. The Evolox® System progresses this established technology to the next level through its unique and innovative design. The surgeon now has freedom in the angular placement of the fixation screws, whilst still allowing three dimensional plate contouring to take place. The design of the tapered twin start threaded locking hole allows the use of both conventional (ISO 5835) Cortical (Cortex)/ Cancellous Bone Screws*, and compatible locking screws. Both screw types or any combination of the two can be positioned with up to 10° of angulation. Unlike other angular locking systems available, there is no metal cutting involved in the locking of the screw head to the plate. This allows for easy removal or replacement.

*Conventional screws do not lock into the plate, but locate into the spherical recess above the Evolox® feature.
Variable angle Screw holes allow up to 10° of directional angulation. 20° inclusive.

Fragment reduction
Plate bending
The Evolox technology allows individual fragment fixation by allowing the screws to angle and lock towards the core of the bone rather than be limited to the perpendicular axis of the plate. This gives the plate coverage for multiple fracture configurations.
The need to bend the plates to an accurate anatomical form prior to implantation is greatly reduced as the need to generate compressive forces between plate and bone is not required. The Evolox® technology can be angled toward the fragment and still create a stable fixation. The reduced bending requirement also helps to retain the full strength of the plate, and protect it from stress risers that can cause premature implant failure.

Secure fixation The Evolox® technology creates a locked construct when used in conjunction with a compatible locking screw, providing angular stability, and a reduced risk of primary and secondary losses of reduction.
Preservation of blood supply Locking plates do not need to be compressed against the bone to create a stable fixation, thus reducing plate to bone contact, which in turn reduces complications caused by vascular trauma to periosteal tissue.
Crumple zones Plates in the EVOLOX range that require anatomical bending are designed with crumple zones that control the movement of the material during manipulation, and direct distortion away from the locking holes. Locking plugs should be used for added protection.
Results EVO LOX Component •EVO LOX part was tested with SS 316 LVM . •Due to the fact that the design of the EVO LOX allows for up to 10 degrees of twist when attached to the screws the first step in the FEA analysis was a central bend of 15 degrees by carrying out a 3 point bend on the part.

Satin Finish
Pull out resistance
In addition to the obvious non-reflective surface providing less light glare during surgery, the uniform surface layer of compressive stress acts to combat stress cracks and corrosion, therefore, increasing the life of implant. Also this type of surface finish has a greater ultrasound reflection. The process itself cleans the part, leaving it free from residues with a low CFU (microorganism) count, resulting in easier autoclave sterilisation.
By opposing screws in varying angular directions using the Evolox® system the perpendicular pull out resistance is greatly increased. Combine this with a locked construct and the reduction of the fracture becomes a reliable fixation in osteoporotic bone. This would not be recommended for other systems with monoaxial direction. 149

Evolox® TPLO TPLO surgery continues to grow and many options are open to the surgeon. Our new plate was two years in the making and has certainly evolved in numerous aspects compared to standard TPLO plates using the same radial cut The use of Evolox Poly-axial Locking Technology with Cranial and Caudal Screw Placement helps to eliminate operation inaccuracies. The Proximal screw is fixed angled.
Gen 2 Evolox®
The latest advancement in Evolox poly-axial locking technology is unlike any previous medical thread form seen in the market place. The usual method to achieve poly-axial locking is to either: 1. Create interrupts (breaks) in the thread form, thus allowing the mating thread to pass through the gap to the next thread. 2. Self-cut the screw thread into the plate. The method in system 1 incurs far less complications with removal of the screw and implant, as system 2 requires the plate to be of a softer material than the screw which then cold fuses the screw to the plate. This is what makes the screw difficult to remove. Also the softer plate is inherently weaker than if using harder material. This method is usually reserved for Titanium products, using pure Titanium on the plate and alloyed Titanium on the screws.

Our 2nd generation Evolox® hole system (patent pending) uses a unique twin start tapered triangular thread form that naturally generates the space required to allow the threads to skip to the next level, thus maintaining a continuous thread form and drastically improving the rigidity of the locking interface. (Please note that it is critical to fill all holes with either a screw or a plug, and follow the torque guidelines)
System 1 can have limitations, as the interrupts in thread form reduce the thread strength and can result in thread stripping if subjected to excessive load after placement or excessive torque during placement. Thread stripping although uncommon will weaken the overall construct. To avoid this occurrence where excessive load after placement is anticipated, it is usual to advise an increase in the plate size to the next range, ie 2.7mm to 3.5mm or 3.5mm to 3.5mm broad etc. This is not always ideal for many reasons, including wound closure and poor bone stock. Humerus - Elbow ‘Y’ or ‘T’
Combined medial and lateral approaches. Anatomic reconstruction with lag screws, K wires etc. Fracture reduction of the articular surface should be confirmed by direct visualization. If only locking screws are used, contouring of the plate is generally not required. The use of Locking Drill Guides is recommended to ensure correct screw trajectory. The Locking Drill Guides can also be used as handles to help position the plate. Drill through the guide hole to the desired depth using an appropriate sized drill bit. Measure the hole depth via a depth gauge. Remove the Locking Drill Guide and insert the appropriate length Locking Screw using a screwdriver. Do not use power tools to insert the locking screws. If non-locking screws (cortex or cancellous) are used in the plate, the following precautions are necessary: Since conventional screws pull bone to the plate, contouring of the plate may be required to enhance bone-plate contact. If non-locking screws are used in combination with locking screws, non-locking screws must be adequately inserted and fully tightened prior to locking screw(s) insertion. Relative Contraindications
The veterinarian’s education, training and professional judgement must be relied upon to choose the most appropriate surgical implant and treatment. The following contraindications should be taken into account by the veterinarian: Any active or suspected latent infection or marked local inflammation in or about the surgical site. Compromised vascularity that would inhibit sufficient blood supply to the fracture site. Bone stock compromised by pathology prior to application that cannot provide adequate support and/or fixation of the implants. Implant sensitivity, documented or suspected. Obesity. An overweight animal can produce loads on the implant that can lead to failure of the surgical procedure or the implant itself. Animals having insufficient soft tissue coverage over the operative site. Implant application that would interfere with normal anatomical structures and range of motion. Any neuromuscular pathology that would create an unacceptable risk of fixation failure or postoperative complications. Other medical or surgical conditions which would preclude the potential benefit of surgery.
Maximum recommended torque for tapered screw head engagement: 3.5mm Locking screw = 2.30 N-mm (0.02 lbf-in) 2.7mm Locking screw = 1.15 N-mm (0.01 lbf-in) Over tightening the screw may result in threads stripping, and loss of secure fixation. In this event replace the over tightened screw with a conventional cortical screw. Secure fixation can be achieved with much lower torque levels using locking screw technology.
Note: Contouring of the plate will alter the angle of the locking screws. It is recommended to insert locking plugs prior to contouring to avoid distortion of internal threads. Evolox Osteosynthesis Plateon radius (4 screws in proximal and 4 screws in distal fragment). Evolox Osteosynthesis Plateon medial or dorsal aspect distally. Choices and Preferential Options We can produce all of our Trauma Plate range to have any of the three finish options.
Satin Finish Starting to be very popular and desirable for the following reasons: •
lack of annoying light reflection during surgery.

Creates a uniform surface layer of compressive stress, which acts to combat stress cracks and corrosion, therefore, increasing the life of implant.

Cleaner part, free from residues with a low CFU (microorganism) count, resulting in easier autoclave sterilisation.
Polished Traditionally accepted as standard. The raw material is polished to remove scale and rough edges from the manufacturing processing. Our process involves large vibratory bowl finishing pastes using grinding pastes decreasing in grain sizes until the desired finish is achieved. Our process can take 3 days per plate for the required standard. Polished finish is aesthetically appealing and it can reduce friction and wear in certain implants.

Technical Data and Processes
We guarantee and certify that all of our implant materials are made to the following specifications.
Stainless Steel 316 LVM ISO 5832-1 ASTM F138/F139 316LVM (low carbon vacumm melt) stainless steel, this stainless steel is vacuum melted to achieve high levels of purity and cleanliness. It has excellent resistance to both general and intergranular corrosion, and pitting and crevice corrosion. The vacuum melt allows for superior surface finish.
Titanium Alloy ISO 5832-3 ASTM F136 One of the most commonly used titanium alloys is an alphabeta alloy containing 6% Al and 4% V. This alloy, usually referred to as Ti 6Al-4V, exhibits an excellent combination of corrosion resistance, strength and toughness. In the case of medical applications, stringent user specifications require controlled microstructures and freedom from melt imperfections. The interstitial elements of iron and oxygen are carefully controlled to improve ductility and fracture toughness. Controlled interstitial element levels are designated ELI (extra low interstitials), hence the designation Ti 6Al-4V ELI.

Electropolishing All of our Stainless Steel Screws, Plates and Kirshner/Arthrodesis Wires receive the following ‘Electro Polishing’ treatment. “Electropolished stainless steel surfaces are bright and highly reflective. This results from the removal of an often contaminated surface layer and the electrochemical action of micro-smoothing. The advantageous features resulting from such a bright and smooth surface are many. The passive oxide layer, which is essential to prevent stainless steel from corroding, cannot be improved upon following electropolishing. By reducing the total surface area, a result of micro-smoothing, products are less likely to adhere to an electropolishing finish. In the same way, surfaces can be cleaned and kept clean more readily. Friction is also reduced and the mechanism of preferentially removing surface high spots, makes electropolishing suitable for eliminating fine burrs”. We do not hand Polish our implants as this can lead to hole/product deformity, inconsistent surface finish and inclusions being impregnated to the product line. Our implants are routinely checked for Bio-burden results of cleanliness and receive a final Nitric Acid passivation prior to dispatch.

N2 (UK) Ltd Terms & Conditlons Of Trade 1. Definitions 1.1 ‘Company’ means N2 (UK) Ltd

Where the Company agrees to accept the return of goods not covered by any of the criteria recited in clauses 3.2 -
1.2 ‘Customer’ means the Veterinary practice or any person to whom the Company has agreed to supply goods.
3.4
Goods will only be accepted by prior agreement with the Company and must be accompanied all the information detailed in 3.2(c) in addition to the name of the person who has authorised the return with written confirmation.
Please note: Goods returned under this category may be subject to a handling charge.

Goods returned to stock
Goods returned by customers for any of the above reasons will only be considered for credit if;
1.3 ‘Goods’ means the products which the Company is to supply to the customer in accordance with these conditions. 1.4 ‘Writing’ includes telex, cable, facsimile transmission, e-mail or similar means of communication. 2.

Breakages and Shortages In the case of obvious shortages or suspected damage to deliveries of goods, the driver’s delivery note must be signed accordingly by the person accepting the delivery on behalf of the customer. All claims for broken or missing goods should be reported to the Company no later than three days from the date of signed delivery. Where independent transport is used failure to sign or indicate on delivery notes any shortage and/ or damage will invalidate the Company’s claim against the carrier involved and therefore the customer’s claim against the Company. Returned Goods Policy Under normal circumstances, goods will not be accepted for return for credit other than for the following reasons: a) To correct a Company delivery or order error. b) Batch Material recall. c) Where the products or packages are alleged to have been faulty, damaged or tampered with prior to delivery. d) Where the products have been offered on a pre -arranged ‘sale or return’ basis.
a) It is known that they have been stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. b) They have been assessed and accepted by a person authorised by the Company so to do. The assessment will take into account the nature of the product, any special storage conditions required and the time elapsed since the goods were supplied. 3.6
Special Orders
These products will not be accepted for return or credit unless supplied as a result of a Company error. In such cases, the product must be returned within 7 working days of receipt.
3.7
Packaging
All returned goods must be securely packaged to prevent damage during the return journey.
4.
Price of Goods Goods will be invoiced at the prevailing price at the date of dispatch to the customer. The price of goods shall be subject to alteration by the Company without prior notice to the customer. The price is exclusive of any Value Added Tax for which the customer shall be additionally liable to pay the Company.
The Company or an other approved supplier shall not be liable for any taxes, commission or payments due to local, national or International Governing bodies in respect of delivered products.The customer is also solely responsible for additional fees, dispersements or import duty levied by the customer’s country of origin.
5. 5.1
Terms of Payment The customer shall pay the amount of the invoice on strictly 30 days terms unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Company. The purchaser will not be considered to have paid any amount tendered by cheque unless and until it has been credited to the Company’s bank Account.
If the customer fails to pay on the due date, the Company reserves the right to:
e) Where the Company agrees, in advance of their return, to accept goods not covered by any of the above criteria. 3.2 Goods Returned to Correct a Company Error a) The goods must be returned within 7 working days of receipt by registered courier. Goods must be adequately packaged to ensure that no damage is caused during their return to the Company. b) All returned goods must be in perfect original condition; not marked in any way; should not show any evidence of being tampered with and still sealed in original packaging. c) To be considered for return for credit, the goods must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice or delivery note, or the number of the specific invoice on which the goods were supplied, together with a reason for their return. If this information is missing, there will be a delay in issuing a credit. 3.3
Returns where the products or packages are alleged to have been faulty, damaged or tampered with prior to delivery: a) Details of the fault or damage should be notified to the Company in writing as soon as possible in order that N2 (UK) Ltd can be alerted. b) Goods must be packed separately and accompanied by a copy of the invoice or delivery note (as in 3.2(c))

a) Suspend any further deliveries to the customer b) Appropriate any payment raised by the customer to such of any other invoices raised by the Company for goods supplied to the customer as the Company may think fit, notwithstanding any purported appropriation by the customer and:

c) Charge the customer interest (both before and after any judgment) on amounts unpaid at the rate of 2.5% per month until payment is made in full. Notice of interest charges will be served in writing on the customer. 6. Delivery Any dates/times quoted for delivery of the goods are to be treated as estimates only and the Company shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage or expense arising from delay in delivery of the goods howsoever caused. 7.
Force Majeure The Company shall not be liable to the customer or be deemed to be in breach of the Contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of the Company’s obligations in relation to the Goods, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the Company’s reasonable control. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the following shall be regarded as causes beyond the Company’s reasonable control: a) Act of God, explosion, flood, tempest, fire or accident; b) Strikes, lock-outs or other industrial actions or trade disputes (whether involving employees of the Company or third parties); c) War or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition; d) Import or export regulations or embargos; e) Difficulties in obtaining raw materials, labour, fuel, parts or machinery; f) Power failure or breakdown in machinery.

Liability a) Implants must only be used once. Even after a short -term implantation externally non-visible damages may be present. If the implant has to be bent for anatomical forming, this must be uniform and utmost care with correct instruments taking care of critical points, such as decreasing the cross section due to bores. Multiple alternating contouring (forward and reverse bending) should never be carried out to avoid metal fatigue. Bending stresses damage the implant irreparably. b) All implants are manufactured from high quality materials in accordance with ISO standards and therefore should not be combined with any other products from alternative manufacturers. c) The use of handling and storing of all goods should only be carried out by fully qualified personnel to a European Recognized standard.
Company will not accept under any circumstances liability for consequential loss, inconsequential losses, damage or loss of profits arising from the use of the goods, service, information and advice. 9.
Title and Risk Unless otherwise agreed in writing between the parties prior to delivery, the title to the goods shall not be transferred to the customer until the full purchase price has been paid to the Company. The risk of loss or damage to the goods shall pass to the customer on the date that the goods are received and accepted by the customer
10. Insolvency 10.1 This clause applies if: a) The customer makes any voluntary arrangement with its creditors or becomes subject to an administration order or (being an individual or firm) becomes bankrupt or (being a company) goes into liquidation (otherwise than for the purpose of a solvent amalgamation or reconstruction); b) An encumbrance takes possession, or a receiver is appointed, over any of the property or assets of the customer; c) The customer ceases, or threatens to cease, to carry on business; d) The Company reasonably apprehends that any of the events mentioned above is about to occur in relation to the customer and notifies the customer accordingly. 10.2 If this clause applies then, without prejudice to any other right or remedy available to the Company, the Company shall be entitled to cancel the Contract or suspend any further deliveries under the Contract without liability to the customer. If the Goods have been delivered but not paid for, the price shall become immediately due and payable notwithstanding any previous agreement or arrangement to the contrary. 11. Indemnity The customer agrees to indemnify the Company against all loss, damage, costs, legal costs and professional and other expenses of any nature whatsoever incurred or suffered by the Company or by a third party as a result of the use of the Goods, the breach of any legislation relating to the use of the Goods or as a result of any breach of the Contract by the customer. 12. Jurisdiction These conditions shall be construed in accordance with and governed by English Law. Each of the parties irrevocably submits for all purposes in connection with the Conditions to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
d) Goods are sold on the understanding that the customer is solely responsible for determining the suitability of the goods for the purposes for which the customer intends to use them.
Accordingly the Company’s liability for any loss or damage suffered by the customer and arising by defects in the goods, shall be limited to the invoice price of the goods in respect of or in relation to which loss or damages is claimed. The
