In the 159 years to 2011, at least 951 people were killed in Australia by floods and another 1326 were injured, according to Australian Geographic.

Meaning: Smart, stylish. Origin: The word smick was recorded once in the 1970s, and is believed to be a blend of the words smart and slick. From the late 1990s onwards smick was modified to schmick.
