y partner’s sister is training for Tough Mudder. She’s a keen runner and has had her husband install some obstacles in the backyard to aid her training. She’s put a team together and my name is on her list. Initially I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea. Get out with the bloke and some members of his family, engage in some healthy physical activity, have a laugh and get a little dirty – sounds peachy. But after researching this week’s cover story, I have had a rethink – I hate to disappoint the team, but, oh I have just remembered, I can’t compete because I’ll be, umm, washing my hair that day. If you’re not sure what this whole Tough Mudder thing is, turn the page. If you plan to take part and are keen to f nd out why the organisers chose Caloundra to host one of the
] events, turn the page. If you are signed up for a team but don’t know what you are in for and aren’t as f t as you could be, well, maybe skip the story and head straight for socials. I don’t want to scare you off. Jokes aside, Tough Mudder is big business and it is a huge pat on the back that the organisers have chosen us to host the Queensland event. And while I might not take part, I will be at the f nish line, with very shiny locks, cheering on my team. Still, after reading our agenda item this week, you might be tempted to run around outside.
