I have an old truck that has not seen the road in 10 years. I had it towed into a shop so I could get it running again. They gave me a list of what repairs were needed along with the cost. This was within my budget so I gave authorization for them to proceed. After they “completed” the $5000.00 worth of repairs I am still having problems with the truck. At times it will not start and when it does it runs awfully. Now they want $2000.00 more dollars. They put in new fuel tank and carburetor. Extensive brake repairs and cooling system components. Should I pay them or make them stand behind what they did? ~ Totally Bummed Out

First of all, vehicles were never designed to be stored for that length of time. Seals harden and fuel becomes solidified napalm. Did they replace or flush all of the fuel lines and hoses? How old is your truck and how did it run before storing it? Is there any obvious corrosion on the vehicle? All systems have to be restored to optimum performance level at your expense. As long as the repair shop showed integrity in the original assessment any further repairs or required parts are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
