Life has a funny way of pushing us towards unexpected paths. The question is, do we have the guts to take them?

This leads us to Marika, the owner of a custom jewelry boutique called Blossom & Love. As a young student, Marika had always been interested in healthcare and graduated with a degree in Biomedical Science. Instead, the pandemic hit, and she found herself laid off and adrift. But amidst the uncertainty and chaos, something beautiful emerged: a love for flower preservation.

While she had plenty of time indoors to hone her craft, like many others, she also grappled with her mental health during this time. She shares, “If it weren’t for the lowest part of my mental health journey, I wouldn’t have invested so much of myself into learning this art form and ultimately getting to a point with it that allows me to stand out from the crowd.” It became a healing and mentally fulfilling part of her life, exactly when she needed it. She found herself growing in ways she never thought possible, as she channeled her creativity and energy into designing unique, stunning pieces of jewelry.

What she thought would be her “covid hobby” soon become her passion and purpose. She crushed her first market- still during the pandemic- and soon word spread like wildfire. But she was faced with the choice: Get a full-time job or put her all into this side gig. Call it gut instinct, but Marika knew she needed to trust herself- possibly for the first time in her life.

Marika channels inspiration from Las Vegas’s mesmerizing desert landscape, as well as from her childhood memories of her mother laminating flower identification books and creating bookmarks to sell. She loves to make every client feel special, and even offers brides the chance to make their special day last forever by preserving their cherished bridal bouquets as keepsakes.

A true entrepreneur and creative, Marika also believes in helping others succeed in their passion and businesses. When Rita attended her first gem and bead show at the Sands Convention Center back in 2007, it was love at first sparkle. A creative by nature, renderings of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings featuring brilliant Venetian beads, iridescent pearls and deep ambers immediately danced in front of her eyes, and she knew then it was her mission to transform the ordinary into the unforgettable.
