Fine Arts Series Member News

OCTOBER 10 - NOVEMBER 15 Opening reception Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5-7pm.

The South Lobby Gallery of the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory will temporarily be home to a variety of works by local, regional and national artists. The exhibit is free to visit during regular Crystal Bridge hours. All artwork is for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Gardens.

The Howell Gallery, 6432 North Western, Oklahoma City, was officially established in 1991 by Linda and Ken Howell, and is a showcase for fine original art by regionally and nationally recognized artists together with exciting works by new, emerging artists.

The Myriad Botanical Gardens began its Fine Art Series in September 2012 with an exhibit by photographer Carl Shortt Jr., whose breathtaking work is featured on the cover of this issue of ‘The Bridge,’ and whose wood-turning pieces have been shown at Howell Gallery.

Featured artists have included Joy Richardson, Bert Seabourn, J. Don Cook, America Meredith, Tony Tiger and most recently Doug Hoke. Upcoming shows include selections from the JRB Gallery in December, and works by Benjamin Harjo Jr. in January. “White Breasted Nuthatch” by Linda Kukuk. Watercolor on etched clayboard.

Members Holiday Glow and Wreath Auction

Adults 21 and over Members and donors are invited to kick off the holidays with the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Please join us in the Visitor’s Lobby and Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory for a festive evening filled with delectable fare, libations, live entertainment, holiday décor, ice skating and a silent auction filled with lavish holiday wreaths. We will also have smaller

gifts and holiday items for sale.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15

Santa and Skating - for members only

4 – 6pm Santa Meet and Greet in the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory; 4 – 8pm 2-for-1 skate at the Devon Ice Rink Santa will be available for photos and spreading holiday cheer from 4 - 6pm in the Crystal Bridge. We will have crafts in the lobby for kids to enjoy while they wait for Santa, too! Members of the Gardens receive free ice skate rental throughout the season. In addition, from 4 - 8pm on this day only, 2 members will be able to skate for the price of 1.
