WO R K Karin Myint is a design practitioner who works across various media and whose clients range from boutique food and wine groups to iconic luxury products and well-known national brands. Projects awarded have ranged in scope from publications and packaging to environmental, electronic and product design. Client List Includes: Barbara Barry Inc., Leigh Beisch Photography, The Body Shop, Build Inc., Chronicle Books, Creativity Explored, Heather Marx Gallery, Kravet Textiles, Navarro Vineyards, Piccino Cafe, Pope Creek Ranch, Restoration Hardware, The San Francisco & Marin Food Bank, View Inc., Vino Volo and Williams-Sonoma Inc. Prior to opening her own San Francisco studio in 2002, her 20-year career has included positions at Apple Computer Inc. and the packaging studio of Primo Angeli Inc. She also worked for two award-winning Bay Area design studios, Alter Pop, and Vanderbyl Design. As senior designer at Vanderbyl Design, Karin designed and managed accounts for Baker Furniture, California College of the Arts, Esprit de Corps, HBF, Luna Textiles, The Oakland Museum of California, Robert Talbott and Technion Furniture Systems.

circle, after she learned that it had been drinking fermented agave sap, she and her husband drank some and discovered that it caused both happiness and fearlessness. We chose a modern take on this lesser known deity of drunkenness to promote the book, Tequila, Myth, Magic & Spirited Recipes. Straightforward typography was used for the headline to mimic the road sign of the town of Tequila. Type coloration represents the color of the agave plant and the red clay soil from which it florishes.

Liz Tagami operates Tagami International, a brokerage for premium food with a particular focus on extra virgin olive oil from the major growing areas in the world. We chose to focus her identity on her family chop and her signature. Both representing her personal involvement with her global clientele.

...................................... Golden Gate Reference Data is a start up in the financial technology business sector. This company researches data for investment bankers,

educational institutions and venture capital enterprises. We focused on the acronym GGRD and interlocked the G’s to represent the channels of connectedness data plays in financial decision making. Additional imagery took advantage of Google mapping and current event images which were then overprinted with data points.

TYPE EXPLORATION

...................................... Coffee, Buddhism and tattoos. These are the three loves of client Charles Menzies. He asked us to incorporate these elements for his newest venture, Eightfold Coffee Roasters. Shown here are four of our favorite wordmarks from the design exploration phase of the project. Each conveying a different company strength.

Daughter Sarah Bennett of Navarro Family Vineyards branched out to start Penny Royal Farms a tiny creamery designed for a small flock of sheep and goats (the milking equivalent of ten cows). Her state of the art facility produces cheeses that are handmade yet reflect an international sensibility. Sold primarily to Navarro Wine Club members. We worked with Chez Panisse artist/illustrator Patricia Curtan on the illustrative mark and carried out a system that included labels, marketing collateral and signage.
