The Malad Track and Field Team rose to the top of the pack as they competed at the Idaho State Track Meet at the Middleton track May 20 and 21. Fourteen hopeful athletes battled for the win in their various events and ultimately brought home 24 medals, including one 1st place finish, two 2nd place finishes, two 3rd place finishes, four 4th place finishes, twelve 5th place finishes and three 6th place finishes. The athletes accomplished setting nine new personal records as they competed against the top athletes of Idaho. The girls team earned 6th place of the 16 scor-

ing teams, with their score of 46 points, the highest score any MHS girls track team has scored at the state level. The boys team earned 9th place of the 20 scoring teams. The combined boys and girls score was the 4th highest score that any MHS track team has earned. Looking back over the season, the athletes have had to work to perfect their skills as they competed in difficult weather against worthy opponents. Their hard work has proven to pay off as they have found victory on the winner stand. A full review of the Track season is coming in next week's paper

The Malad Middle School Girls' track team had some impressive events this year with many girls setting records.
