Thanks for supporting Cupid’s chocolates are the Cancer fund-raiser just around the corner I want to thank all the folks who supported my efforts to raise some more money for our Auxiliary's Cancer Fund. I know it wasn’t easy to donate the dollars, coming on the heels of Christmas, but I do appreciate the willingness of so many of you. The snowmen look pretty hanging in the bar. I hope you agree. If you haven’t found your snowman yet, keep looking as they are all hung up. I will be bugging you again for your help and support in March with Shamrocks and a great dinner and raffle — all in hopes of finding a cure for a disease that strikes so many. Again, thank you. — Shireen Ainsworth Auxiliary Cancer Chairman

Big Jim’s spaghetti to help stomp out cancer

If you didn’t get enough sweets at Christmas, it’s time for Cupid to drop chocolate Valentines down the chimney. Oops, I just had a senior moment and confused him with Santa Claus. I had so much food over the holidays I probably couldn’t look a box of chocolates in the face (that’s presuming they have a face). I hope you had a lot of fun with friends and family. Things are nice, but at this stage of life friends are more valuable, don’t you think? Our regular meetings are back on schedule. The potluck and business meeting is on the first Thursday of the month and the birthday meeting is at 12:30 p.m. on the third Thursday. I hope to see you here! — Joyce Louderback, Reporter
