It Was All You By Marlin Schul, MD, FAVLS Chairman of Foundation for Venous & Lymphatic Disease
On behalf of the Foundation for Venous & Lymphatic Disease (FVLD) Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to our fourth Executive Leadership Summit (ELS)! We are extremely excited to celebrate our various New Horizon strategic plan and captial campaign achievements from the past five years. Even more so, we have “Great Expectations” for what lies ahead. One of the highlights for the Foundation is hosting the Executive Leadership Summit, and this year is no different. When we can bring the caliber of leadership in our field together in a single place with a single objective, it is a powerful opportunity to change the world. Your participation in the ELS is an opportunity to help craft the strategy and implement the tactics necessary to ensure a brighter future for all of us caring for patients with venous and lymphatic disease. Thank you! I also would like to take a moment and thank everyone that has not only made this ELS possible but also made every accomplishment of the New Horizon strategy possible through your generous contributions. Without your investment, we would not be able to celebrate all our achievements over the past five years. Thank you! The Foundation was created over 15 years ago and has raised more than $13 million to invest in a variety of initiatives, all centered on the pursuit of recognition for venous and lymphatic medicine as a standalone medical specialty. We have come a long way to making this dream a reality. While we have accomplished much, there is still more to do. Now, we find ourselves on the 20-yard line looking to make the final push to protect our specialty for generations to come with the ultimate goal of ensuring accessible quality care for those who suffer from venous and lymphatic disease. On behalf of the entire Board of the Foundation for Venous & Lymphatic Disease, I am excited that we remain committed to our mutual cause to invest in Advocacy, Research, and Education, and to impact patient care and awareness of venous and lymphatic medicine.
With Great Expectations! Marlin Schul
