LIBRARY Summer Reading Program The MWR library’s Summer Reading program starts 21 June and is for kids ages 3-13. This year’s edition is A Mid-Summer Knight’s Read! Come sign up at the Capo or Support Site Libraries starting 21 June and pick up your free starter kit and book log. Weekly activities and programs will be scheduled during the months of June-July-August at the Support Site Library. Win prizes for the books you read; the more you read during the summer, the more prizes you get. Don’t miss out on the fun … free movies, a day at the pool, hot dog cook-out, crafts and lots more. ITT Sat, 4 June: Naples Underground and Pizza Visit the elaborate underground Naples where there is a museum of the underground located beneath Piazza Cavour in a huge quarry cavity with connecting tunnels and aqueduct passageways. Explore the findings of more than half a century of exploration. A nice sit-down pizza will top your downtown experience! Cost: Adults €35; Children €30 Departures: 0800 Support Site; 0830 Capodichino Wed, 15 June: Dance with the Buffalos Join a fascinating tour that will take you to a water buffalo farm. Water buffalo’s milk has almost twice the fat of cow’s milk, which produces a creamier cheese and its flavor is more pronounced. To make Mozzarella di Bufala, the fresh milk is cultured with whey from the previous day’s production and coagulated with rennet. After the curds form, they are allowed to ripen for several hours in their whey. They are then transferred to boiling water and heated until they are stretchable. Workers reach into the hot water and deftly mold the malleable curd into balls. The sooner it is eaten after that, the better. The residents around Naples pride themselves on their access to still-warm Mozzarella and say that by the time it gets to Rome, it is too old. With our tour, you’ll have the chance to visit the farm and taste the true Mozzarella di Bufala. A brunch with pizza and cheese will follow the visit. Cost: Adults €30; Children €25 Departures: 0730 Support Site; 0800 Capodichino
