Theopencurriculumhasallowedmetoexplore many topicsoutsidemy major For example,I enrolledinIntroductiontoAmericanPolitics,Ethnic Studies,theHistory of Monuments,and Introduction toSocial Forces.My EthnicStudiescoursefocused onIndigenoushistory andwastaught by amember of theCherokeetribe Thediversity at Brownhas alwaysappealedtome,and thiscourseallowedme toconnect tomy identity asanIndigenouswoman WhileBrowndoesnot offer apre-law major,my extracurricularshaveassistedmewithmy goal of attendinglaw school after undergrad I joinedthe Black Pre-Law Association,whichhelpssupport AfricanAmericanstudentswiththelaw school admissionprocessby connectingthemtoalumni and providingthemwithLSATstudy resources I amthe FreshmanYear Liaisoninthisclub,whichhasallowed metoexpandour reachand host bondingevents.I alsojoinedtheBrownPre-Law Women's Association,whichconnected metoatight-knit groupof femalestudentsconsideringacareer inlaw Weregularly holdstudy sessionsfor theLSAT,which hasallowedmeto becomefamiliar withthetest format
