Our first year inour new Early ChildhoodCenter wastruly magical! The thoughtfully designedspacehasenrichedour programincountlessways Our large, flexibleclassroomenvironmentshaveallowedustoincreasecapacity and planand implement innovativecurriculumthat meetstheuniqueneedsof all children.The communal spaceshavecreatednew opportunitiesfor our parent educationand support programs,buildingvital social connections Thewarmand welcoming environment hashelpedto createastrongsenseof community for our children, familiesandeducators Wearesograteful for theessential rolethat MVYouth playedinbuildingthefoundationfor thefutureof our early childhood programs!
Wecontinuedtoexploreinnovativewaystosupport our early childhoodworkforce andattract new educatorstothefield.Wewelcomed studentsfromMV Regional High?sSchool?sECEProgram,providingopportunitiesfor observationsand practical experienceintheclassroom WealsopartneredwiththeMartha?s VineyardCenter for Educationand TrainingandCapeCod Community Collegeto launchtheEarly Childhood EducationCohort,whichconnectsnew and prospective educatorswithcollegecoursework and wrap-aroundsupports It isour hopethat thisinitiativehelpstobuildour ECEworkforceacrosstheisland!
Weareexcitedtosharethat wewill begintooffer Early HeadStart (EHS)services in2023,targetingfamilieswithchildrenbirthtothree! Our home-basedmodel will buildonthelearningopportunitiesinthehomeenvironment Duringweekly visits, HomeVisitorswill helpparentstoidentify opportunitiestosupport their child?s development duringordinary experiencesthat happeneachday HomeVisitorsand parentswill alsowork together toidentifyfamily goalsand accessthesupports neededto achievethem! Our EHSprogramwill complement our well-established HeadStart program,whichservesfamilieswithpreschool-agechildren
