Praca Jacka Adamasa (ur. 1955) przedstawia przednią i tylną (dodaną przez artystę) okładkę czasopisma o sztuce „Artforum”. Na froncie pokazany jest złoty boeing Pawła Althamera, na tyle — wrak prezydenckiego Tupolewa. Dla artysty te dwa samoloty i wydarzenia z nimi powiązane symbolizują dwa niesprowadzalne do siebie oblicza współczesnego państwa polskiego. Adamas w brukselskim przedsięwzięciu Pawła Althamera, które było elementem obchodów dwudziestej rocznicy wyborów 4 czerwca 1989 i sukcesu wolnej i demokratycznej Polski, wziął udział (jak sam podkreśla) jako krytyk. Artysta bowiem od wielu lat wyraźnie sytuuje się po stronie krytyków tej Polski, starając się w swoich akcjach pamiętać raczej o tych, którzy nie uznają tego dwudziestolecia za sukces. Artysta pisał: „Zamieniono nas w masy — dawniej klasa pracująca miast i wsi — teraz nawóz dla przemysłu i banków. Kiedyś bym to wykrzyczał, pewnie by mnie spałowali. Dzisiaj wysyłam mój dowód osobisty do Rzecznika Praw Obywatelskich, pisząc, że stan państwa obraża moje uczucia obywatelskie i nie chcę dłużej być obywatelem”.

Jacket Adamas
The work Artforum features the front and back magazine covers that show, respectively, Paweł Althamer’s golden Boeing from his action in which Jacek Adamas (b. 1955) participated, and the wreck of the Polish presidential Tupolev airplane. For the artist, the two airplanes and the events related to them stand as symbols of two utterly incongruent faces of contemporary Poland. On the one hand, he portrays himself as one participant of Althamer’s project, which celebrated in Brussels the 20 successful years of free and democratic Poland. On the other hand, he clearly situates himself among the critics of that Poland. His works strive not to forget those for whom the 20-year period was not that successful. The artist wrote: “we’ve been transformed into masses — formerly it was the working class of cities and villages — now a fertilizer for the industry and banks. In the past, I’d shout it out, and I’d probably get beaten up with a truncheon. Now, I’m submitting my ID to the Ombudsman, explaining that the state of the country is an insult to my civic feelings and I don’t want to be a citizen any longer.”
