JESSICA Age: 27 Size: Typically a 20, but you know sizing discrepancies! From: San Diego, CA

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Your body is a phenomenon and deserves decoration. I tend to gravitate towards vintage inspired looks because I am as femme as it gets :) Fashion as a plus size woman is a full time job that requires a lot of creativity, imagination and then a healthy dose of reality. Know your body and make peace with it...pants are not for me and after years of doing it wrong I know that now ;)

JEn Age: 22 Size: 22-30 (you know how it is!) From: Bayonne, NJ

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I adore wearing bright colors, crazy patterns and dresses that cinch at my waist to emphasize my curves. Nothing makes me feel more effortlessly feminine than a cute dress. I know some people might think I’m crazy because I like wearing polyester dresses with huge poofy sleeves and wallpaper-y floral prints, but what can I say? It makes me happy!

gabby Age: 27 Size: 16/18 From: Los Angeles, California

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Just because I’m a big gal doesn’t mean I should look dowdy or old. Fashion is supposed to be fun and creative whether you’re fat, thin, or in-between!

sarah Age: 26 Size: 18 From: Barrie, Ontario, Canada

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Anyone that claims “fat people are lazy” can’t be taking about us Fatshionistas. We have to work 5 times harder to make it work. Sometimes the things that restrict us can force us to think outside the box though. I believe in having fun with fashion. Fashion is a way to express yourself to the world. I like looking feminine and celebrating my curves. I like lots of colour. I like things that are bold, quirkey and a little bit odd. I would much rather veer towards batshit crazy then veer towards boring. ThePaleAndPallorPrincess.blogspot.com

jill Age: 25 Size: 16/18/20- depending on the store/type of clothing

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Don’t be afraid to try something new and different! It’s always great to have a distinct style, but I find the most fun is trying something new for a day. Fashion is a great way to express yourself; so sometimes you feel a little rockery, but sometimes you feel a little country. Fashion is the easiest way to try on a new you! :)

gabi Age: 23 Size: 18/20 Location: Detroit, Michigan

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Wear what makes you happy, regardless of what others say. Try on everything, even if it’s not marked your size! And when all else fails, wear a black mini dress and a blazer.

YoungFatAndFabulous.com

kenzie Age: 18 Size: Between 18-22 Location: Columbus, Ohio

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: In my mind, fashion should be fun. You should wear what everyone says you shouldn’t be wearing, whether that is lace panels, all black, slouchy looks, stripes, grandma florals, or anything else, and feel fierce doing it. If it makes you feel amazing, who the fuck cares if someone else says fat ladies shouldn’t wear skinny jeans or skinny chicks shouldn’t wear big florals or women shouldn’t wear structured shoulder pads? To put it simply, I wear what makes me feel good, no matter what anyone else is saying, and you should too. JillyBeanStalk.blogspot.com

keena Age: 24 Size: 26/28 Location: San Diego, California

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: “Big Girls Are Sexy Too!” is my philosophy. As big women, we’re typically noticed first simply because of our size, so why not give them something MORE to look at when you’re stylin’ on dem hoes!? Folks instantly become surprised and inspired because it’s not the norm unfortunately. So stand out from the rest, walk with confidence and just do the damn thang!

cynthia Age: 27 Size: 12-18 I have so many different sizes I really don’t go by it at times. Location: Brooklyn, NY

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Fashion is a roller coaster and being plus size is King Kong. Only the fearless are willing to take the ride and at the end you’ll come out victorious. Don’t be afraid to break boundaries and love your body first before anything else.

cierra Age: 21 Size: 18/20 From: Greensboro, North Carolina

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I would describe my style as chic and comfortable. I don’t like to limit myself when it comes to fashion, because everything inspires me. One day it could be rock & roll, retro, urban, bohemian, girly etc. I love it all! I believe your individual style is what you make of it. There are no rules when it comes to individuality. I think plus size women are beautiful and we should never be afraid to show off our curves! Take risk as well, even if it is not your size, still try it on! GibsonChic.blogspot.com

devon Age: 18 Size: UK22/24 From: Essex, UK

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I try and keep it simple and sharp, taking a lot of my inspiration from fellow fat bloggers. F*** the size and if there’s something wrong with it, make it work. I’m not afraid of adding straps here or there, etc.

Fat-Nurse.com

tiffany Age: 19 Size: 24/26 From: Chicago, Illinois

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Fashion is limitless; there are no rules. That means that you should take as many risks as you can while you can. My philosphy has always been “People are laughing at me and judging me based on my weight anyway. Strangers know I’m fat whether they express it verbally or not, so why not own it? Why not dress this body however I see fit?” I follow that everyday. I embrace bright colors, loud prints and interesting headwear no matter what others think. FatShopaholic.com

melinda Age: 24 Size: 14/16 From: Boston, Massachusetts

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: Like most girls, I like to dig into my mother’s closet. She dresses in pearls and 50’s style A-line dresses, and is affectionately nicknamed “Pink Lady.” I prefer to take a pink dress, throw on some black tights and pair it with combat boots and gunmetal jewelry. We’re complete opposites on the style spectrum, but she has given me the best advice when it comes to style: “Dress for where you wish you could be, not where you are going.” The term, “overdressing,” is for those who dare not take risks. If you can’t have fun with fashion, what can you have fun with? AmeliaPontes.blogspot.com

j Age: 25 Size: 16 From: San Francisco, California

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: My fashion philosophy consists of three points. I value style that is unapologetically luxurious. I think you can be fashionable at every size. Life is too short to wear ugly shoes.

Fatshionable.com

yolanda Age: 32 Size: 16/18/20 From: Glen Burnie, Maryland

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I generally feel you should be happy in the skin you’re in. Love the size you are and find the look that works for you. I consider my look to be American Classic Flirty Bombshell Glam, which means I generally wear what I like. Being plus size doesn’t stop my Diva... and everyone has an inner diva just dying to get out.

FatShopaholic.com

leti Age: 26 Size: 14/16 From: Belgium

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I think that above all, we must feel good in what we wore and have selfconfidence. Its not important to be trendy, the most important thing is to love what we wear and find our own sense of style. I like color so I don’t hesitate to wear them in all circumstances. I think it represents my character well. I know what I can wear, I know what looks good on me and I have my own style. Having self confidence and being yourself in clothes is most important to me. Letilor.blogspot.com

NICHOLE Age: 28 Size: 18-22 From: Chicago, Illinois

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I have never believed that one’s style is determined by the size of their clothing. I wear what I feel comfortable in whether it s my favorite graphic tee, jeans and hat or a strapless frilly summer dress with a killer pair of wedges. My style is determined by my mood, not by what someone thinks that I should wear. Thanks to the fatshion blogging community, I m learning to take more risks, but I am still compelled to buy a classic black pump over a trendy rocker chic stiletto simply because I like things that can be worn from season to season. NikStarr.blogspot.com

natalie Age: 23 Size: AUS22/24 From: Adelaide, Australia

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I believe that if you have the confidence, you can pull it off. I admire women who push boundaries, no matter what size you are.

NatalieMunford.com

xtina Age: 24 Size: 22/24 From: Takoma Park, Maryland

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I like pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable in terms of plus size fashion. The fun in fashion is in the experimentation. Its in the pushing of the boundaries. Every morning, getting dressed is another chance to try out something new and become someone different.
