LOUD Technologies Music Gear Group has announced the appointment of Jason Tan to the position of Mackie Product Specialist for the APAC Region. Based in Singapore, Tan joins LOUD after more than 20 years in the professional audio industry. For his new role, Tan brings Pro Audio experience, from both a distribution and an audio engineering/production perspective. In addition to a lengthy career in live sound and recording, Tan is the founder of Eastwardaudio where he oversaw productions for Universal Music, Sony BMG, EMI, Pony Canyon and other major labels, as well as film scores and corporate clients including Coca Cola, Lexus, Hitachi and Motorola. Usmani, Esq. as a senior associate in its entertainment industry practice. Usmani spent several years in business affairs at the Creative Artists Agency and earned her J. D. from University of Houston Law Center in 2012. Usmani has experience in drafting agreements related to live music touring and festivals, as well as negotiating corporate partnership deals between brands and artists. Mute Group, a recording label, has promoted Nicole Blonder to Vice President of Marketing in the New York office. Blonder’s 15 year tenure at Mute began in 1999 with the Sales Coordinator position, before progressing to Director of Sales in 2003 and eventually becoming Director of Marketing in 2006. Over the past few years, she has played a critical role in campaigns for artists including M83, Goldfrapp, Jose Gonzalez, Erasure, Moby, the Knife and Arca and Zola Jesus. Cornish College of the Arts has named Tom Baker, DMA, the interim chair of the Music Department. Dr. Baker began as interim chair on Jan. 1. He has been a faculty member in the department since 2011 teaching composition, music theory, electronic music and inter-arts at the College. Baker received his doctorate in composition in 1996 (Doctor of Musical Arts) from the University of Washington. He also holds a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University. Community Professional Loudspeakers has appointed David Prince as Director of Development Engineering, who has over two decades of experience designing, modeling and measuring pro-audio loudspeakers and developing them for manufacturing. Prince will help develop new loudspeakers and continue to advance modeling and measurement programs. He comes to Community from Knowles Electronics where he was Product Development Manager. Previously, Prince held the position of Director of Advanced Development for Tymphany; he was Senior Research Engineer for International Jensen and he spent seven years as an Acoustic Consultant with Talaske. Mute Group has hired Caroline Shadood as Director of Radio in the New York office, effective immediately. Shadood has experience in radio beginning at WMUH in Allentown, PA where she was a DJ and Music Director. She moved on to do radio promotions as part of independent marketing company Distiller Promo, where she promoted acts such as Black Lips, Blood Orange, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings as well as Mute artists Goldfrapp, Polly Scattergood, Cold Specks, Yann Tiersen and Junip. Andy Mesecher has joined Pandora Media as Audio Advertising Production Coordinator. Joining Pandora’s Audio Team, Mesecher will be based out of the company’s Oakland, CA office, effective immediately. Before Pandora, Mesecher spent the last five years at Music Connection magazine. Beginning as the magazine’s Assistant Editor in September 2009, he was promoted to Associate Editor by early 2010. He will continue to work for Music Connection as a freelance writer.
