OVER ONS

TO THE RESCUE When I started mundo melocotón five years ago, I did not expect that we would be building up a real family business so soon. Although Jan actually was the one who pushed me to start my own brand, I never thought that he would have to come to the rescue so quickly :) Meanwhile, we form the creative team behind mundo melocotón. And we enjoy 100% of it!

TO THE RESCUE Toen ik 5 jaar geleden startte met mundo melocotón, had ik niet verwacht dat we zo gauw een echt familiebedrijf zouden uitbouwen. Hoewel Jan eigenlijk degene was die mij overtuigde om m’n eigen label te starten, had ik nooit gedacht dat hij zelf zo snel “to the rescue” zou moeten komen :) Ondertussen vormen we samen het creatieve team achter mundo melocotón. En we genieten daar 100% van!

GROWING UP What all started in a little suitcase packed with a mish mash of colorful “thingies”, grew into an extensive collection of baby essentials. Going from comfortable babyclothing - from the first early weeks up till kindergarden - to a colorful range of soft care items and a hometextile collection to complete your nursery. Every single piece is a practical item which you need for your baby. And we keep on developing every day!

OPGROEIEN Wat allemaal begon in een klein koffertje met een mix van kleurrijke “dingetjes”, groeide uit tot een uitgebreide collectie. Gaande van comfortabele babykleding - vanaf de eerste prille weken tot op de kleuterschool - tot een kleurrijke lijn van zachte verzorgingsitems en een beddengoedcollectie om de kinderkamer volledig aan te kleden. Stuk voor stuk praktische ontwerpen die je nodig hebt voor je baby. En we ontwerpen elke dag verder!

THE TEAM Our team is strengthened by a great group of people who take care of everything down to the last detail: from our super sales assistant to accounting, from the people in the ateliers to the press agency, from the distributors to the photographers to the transporters,... One by one they became indispensable. To us they all form part of mundo melocotón!

HET TEAM Ons team wordt versterkt door een fijne groep mensen die alles tot in het kleinste detail verzorgen: van onze super-sales-assistent tot de mensen in de confectieateliers, van distributeurs over boekhouding tot fotografen, van persagentschap tot transporteur,... Eén voor één zijn ze onmisbaar. Voor ons maken ze allemaal deel uit van mundo melocotón !

DESIGNED BY MOM Besides this wonderful adventure we are also gifted with two lively sons Otto (8) and Nino (6) who taught us to look at the little details that make the difference. They are our greatest inspiration. Often our customers say that you can tell this collection is designed by a mom - which really feels like the best compliment I could get!

DESIGNED BY MOM Naast dit geweldige avontuur zijn er ook onze twee superzonen Otto (8) en Nino (6), die ons geleerd hebben om te kijken naar de kleine details die het verschil maken. Zij zijn onze grootste inspiratie. Het gebeurt heel regelmatig dat onze klanten zeggen dat het duidelijk is dat deze collectie ontworpen wordt door een mama - wat voor mij echt het beste compliment is!

Sustainability is a must and can be done in many different ways:

Duurzaam ondernemen is een must en kan op verschillende manieren.

OEKOTEX We work with suppliers who are Oekotex-certified, so we are sure all the textiles used in our collection were made without harmful substances.

OEKOTEX We werken samen met leveranciers die Oekotex gecertifieerd zijn en kunnen hierdoor zeker zijn dat al ons textiel gemaakt werd zonder het gebruik van schadelijke stoffen.

SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY Our manufacturers can all demonstrate that everything is manufactured under humane working conditions and the productions and certificates are audited regularly and thoroughly.

SOCIALE VERANTWOORDELIJKHEID Onze producenten kunnen stuk voor stuk aantonen dat alles onder menswaardige arbeidsomstandigheden wordt gemaakt en de producties en certificaten worden regelmatig en grondig gecontroleerd.

FOOTPRINT Some decisions are specifically made with an eye on the ecological footprint. E.g. One of our producers is located at the source, meaning in the vicinity of the cotton fields, like this we can greatly reduce extra transportation. These are humble steps, but each step is one in the right direction!

VOETAFDRUK Sommige beslissingen worden specifiek genomen met oog op de ecologische voetafdruk. Bv. Eén van onze producenten bevindt zich dicht bij de bron, dat wil zeggen in de buurt van de katoenvelden. Op die manier kunnen we extra transport sterk verminderen. Het zijn nederige stapjes, maar elk stapje is er eentje in de juiste richting!

NEVER OUT OF STOCK Our permanent clothing collection is also an important link in the sustainable story. We believe a nice model can last much longer than one season. It should not loose its value so soon. Our never out of stock collection fits perfectly in the idea of sustainable business and forms part of our ecological contribution.

NEVER OUT OF STOCK Onze permanente kledingcollectie is ook een belangrijke schakel in het duurzame verhaal. Wij geloven dat een leuk model langer mee kan dan 1 seizoen. Het hoeft zo snel zijn waarde niet te verliezen. Onze never out of stock collectie past perfect bij het idee van duurzaam ondernemen en maakt deel uit van onze ecologische bijdrage.

A LITTLE BIT OF HELP We are very grateful for all the things we achieved in the last 5 years. Through building this brand, we are also able to make a contribution to babies and children in the world who did not have the same luck.

A LITTLE BIT OF HELP We zijn erg dankbaar voor alle dingen die we hebben bereikt in de voorbije 5 jaren. Doordat we dit merk konden opbouwen, zijn we er ook in geslaagd om een bijdrage te doen aan baby’s en kinderen in de wereld die niet hetzelfde geluk hadden.

We want all children, all around the world, to be able to grow in color and softness. That’s why we started supporting projects that look after abandoned babies and street children. With our donations, we helped children in war in Syria, orphans in Poland, abandoned babies in Africa ... It makes us truly happy and proud.

We willen dat alle kinderen, waar ook ter wereld, in kleur en zachtheid kunnen opgroeien. Daarom startten we met het steunen van projecten die zorgen voor achtergelaten baby’s en straatkinderen. Met onze doneringen hielpen we kinderen in oorlog in Syrië, weeskinderen in Polen, verlaten baby’s in Afrika,... Het maakt ons oprecht gelukkig en fier.

Thanks to you we could make that small difference, and we will continue to do so. A big Thank You for that!
