NEW PROMOS LAUNCHED FOR
GUILD'S NURSING PROGRAM
Beginning May 1st, Mt Carmel Guild of Trenton will launch a multi-media marketing campaign aimed at low-income, homebound senior citizens across Mercer County, under its accredited Home Health Nursing Program, providing free, in-home visits from Registered Nurses

The campaign, slated to last all Summer, will include promotional billboards, shuttle bus panels, brochures, fliers, a local television feature and more, with a view to expanding the Guild’s reach throughout Mercer County
Under the program, participants must be 60 years or older to qualify and receive ongoing inhome nursing support not covered by Medicare.
In describing the program, Mary Inkrot, Executive Director of Mt Carmel Guild said it succeeds because care management is also included as part of the approach and not just nursing services.
“Our nurses routinely check for signs of elder abuse, food insecurity, and safety hazards They are in frequent communication with each patient and often coordinate with doctor’s offices, case managers, pharmacies, and families outside of home visits.
“Further,” she continued, “ our nurses provide comfort and companionship to those who are lonely and make referrals to other services such as Meals on Wheels and transportation to and from medical appointments.”
She emphasized that “sometimes, individuals are skeptical that our services are completely free of cost, but it is absolutely true ” The Guild’s ability to offer free in-home nursing care is made possible through the generosity of funders such as the Mercer County Office on Aging and proceeds from its Aging-in-Place Appeal
Virginia and Joseph Wirth began receiving care under the program in August 2022
According to John, “they are sophisticated nurses They know how to go about getting things done. Pharmacies want you to come pick up your drugs, but how are you supposed to do that? You have no car, you can’t drive, you can’t see You need somebody who is willing to help you and they found us one at Mt Carmel Guild They are making sure you have what you need, and they make us feel like we are still alive.”
The mission of Mt. Carmel Guild’s Home Health Nursing Program is to improve the quality of life for patients by increasing their medical stability and safety, so they may age in place independently with grace and dignity It was accredited in 2019 by the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation and today maintains a high-quality standard in the provision of service for all patients
