n 2006-07, the Missouri Valley Conference celebrated a century of excellence as the nation’s second-oldest NCAA Division I conference. As a part of the Centennial Celebration, The Valley named all-centennial teams for each of its sponsored sports, including women’s basketball. A total of nine former Lady Bears were honored on the MVC Women’s Basketball All-Centennial Team, while Jackie Stiles was named the league’s all-time greatest player, and former Missouri State head coach Cheryl Burnett was recognized as the MVC’s all-time greatest coach. The squad was determined through an on-line fan vote, in-arena ballots and a centennial committee. Over 3,500 votes were cast for women’s basketball while all 10 schools had at least one representative on the team.
