Background: Jeffrey Bentz came to Missouri State after four

years of swimming with Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kan. Bentz was selected as an All-American Swimmer in the 50 freestyle by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America his final year with the Raiders. His senior year, he was an all-state, all-conference, all-metro, all-Johnson County and all-Sun County honoree. He placed second in state competition in the 50 free with a time of 21.46. Bentz was a junior national qualifier and was named team captain as a senior.

Background: Waldo Broodryk comes to Missouri State after

spending four years with the Wichita Swim Club where he participated in four consecutive regional championship meets. In 2005, he recorded a third-place finish in the 100 breast at the Missouri Valley All-Star meet. In 2006, he was a member of the 400 medley relay squad that qualified for the junior national meet as well as earning six various top-eight finishes at the Missouri Valley Zone Championships. In his final prep year, Broodryk recorded a top-16 finish at the 2007 Pro-Am and participated in the 2008 Grand Prix meet.
