They wanted to create a game that could improve children’s English language skills through animations and interactions. They received funding from the Ministry of Science for an e-learning development project, which they completed in 20091. The game was initially launched in Denmark, but soon expanded to other countries in Europe, North America, and Oceania. The game was designed with children aged 8–15 in mind, and aimed to provide a safe and fun online community for them2. In 2011, the game added tasks for new users to complete before they could access the full features of the game. The tasks included creating an avatar, choosing a room theme, making friends, and playing mini-games.
