From the President Dear Friends, By now our new look has caught your attention and you are smiling with favor! You have seen pictures, glanced at story titles, and made note of the latest Mount news. I have no doubt that your first impression is positive, and you are tweeting about our fresh appearance. The Mount’s long tradition of excellence and innovation continues to provide the impetus to keep us looking toward the future and on the edge of growth. By the time you read this letter many of you will have experienced Celebrauction XXIX: The Very Best of Philly! The evening was filled with fun, prizes, trips, concerts and a visit from the Philly Phanatic and the Uptown String Band. Suzanne and Ted Pacitti, our chairs are the very best of the Mount. They worked from morning to night, drawing out the talents and gifts of their committee chairs and parent volunteers. With each passing year I am inspired by the dedication and commitment of our parents in advancing our mission and by their support of this good work. Suzanne and Ted made this evening memorable for our guests, and gratifying, as well, for all who gave of their time and genius. Please accept my deepest gratitude. I am sure you will agree that our theme and the setting of the Campanile on the skyline of Philadelphia is one of the best invitations you have ever received. The work of Jim Paul of T.J. Paul and his creative marketing team is astonishing and truly sets us apart when it comes to quality. Jim, from the heart of the Mount I thank you for the endless hours you spend in devotion to the Mount. Every good city has an event planner, and this is true of the Mount. Cindy Moore is an amazing innovator and collaborative leader, who successfully challenged the Mount parents and guests to “go green,” and to defy the tradition of paper bid sheets for the new electronic Bid-Pal devices during the silent auction. Her contagious enthusiasm and upbeat personality welcomed all who came around the table over the months of preparation. Cindy, I am grateful for your innovation, dedication and commitment. Our masters of ceremony, the Comly Brothers kept us laughing and focused on the live auction. The paddles were lifted high and often in bidding for the best gifts ever! For 29 years they have demonstrated a belief in the Mount by their presence and generous support of this event. I am grateful and indebted to them for their outstanding and enduring service. This evening was first rate because we depend on the kindness of our sponsors. We could not do without the generosity of our individual donors and businesses whose gifts and donations enhanced the quality of this night. Please join me in expressing my gratitude for their generosity by choosing to do business with them whenever possible. “Celebrate the spirit that sets us apart.” The Mount, “where exceptional young women are emboldened with confidence and competence inspired to realize their fullest potential, and prepared to shape the future…our Mounties, the very best of Philly.” Each year I have seen our students redefine excellence and choose new ways to shape the future. I hope you felt the pride of being in their midst and knowing you helped them to believe they are the very best of Philly! With gratitude, Sister Kathleen Brabson, SSJ President Mount Saint Joseph Academy
