What is the Mount Fund? You’ve heard about it, but do you know what it is and why it’s so important? If not, you’re not alone. Many schools have annual fund drives like the Mount Fund, but often, people don’t fully understand the purpose. Over the next few editions of the Mount Magazine, we are going to answer some commonly asked questions to help clarify some of the mystery. We also invite you to contact the Development Office, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can reach us at 215 233-1859 or visit us at www.msjacad.org.

Q:How is The
Mount Fund? Each year, starting on July 1 and ending on June 30, the Mount Fund raises money to help us cover the 18% gap left from tuition to balance the school’s budget. We are committed to keeping tuition levels at an affordable rate; therefore, it only covers approximately 82% of our expenses. The balance of our needed income comes from donations to the Mount Fund.
A:
Mount Fund used? It generates unrestricted dollars that are used on everything from classroom supplies to athletic equipment to online subscriptions in the library to lighting in the auditorium for shows. Because the funds are unrestricted, they can be applied to the areas that have the greatest need for that academic year.
Thank you to all 2014-2015 Mount Fund supporters. We invite everyone to participate this year. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference!
