Welcome from the Korn Ferry Tour Dear Golf Fans, On behalf of the PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2021 Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. The Korn Ferry Tour is thrilled to once again bring the next generation of PGA TOUR stars to Springfield, Missouri and compete at the Highland Springs Country Club. As the Korn Ferry Tour continues its 32nd year and this one-of-a-kind super season, we cannot thank you enough for your continued support during these unprecedented times. This period in our history presented a tremendous challenge for our tournaments and our business, but golf emerged from uncertain times with a higher popularity at both the professional and recreational levels. Along with our players, partners and fans, we continue to show that sports can be contested within this ever-changing landscape, providing entertainment and a sense of normalcy. As we move forward, we are excited to continue the 30-year tradition in Springfield. Last year, Max McGreevy won by a stroke for his first victory on the Korn Ferry Tour. Max is currently in the top 25 of our 2020-21 points standings, which will ultimately determine who earns a PGA TOUR card this August. We would like to thank the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, the membership and staff at Highland Springs Country Club, as well as our many tournament sponsors and partners for their continued support. We also want to express our sincere gratitude to the entire Springfield community for their tremendous support, and the many tournament volunteers who unselfishly give up their time in order to make the event a success. Enjoy the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper as you watch golf’s next generation of PGA TOUR stars! Sincerely,

Alex Baldwin President, Korn Ferry Tour

Jerald L. Andrews On behalf of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, the tournament staff, over 1,000 volunteers and more than 400 sponsors, allow me to welcome you to the 32nd annual Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper at the beautiful Highland Springs Country Club. We are one of only four original Korn Ferry Tour stops to be celebrating 32 years of making a difference in the lives of aspiring golfers and the charities we serve. I hope that you take the opportunity to truly enjoy many of the activities we have planned for the 32nd anniversary of professional golf in the Ozarks. The tournament schedule is on page 3. The tournament continues to grow each year, and we are encouraged by the overwhelming number of individuals, corporate sponsors and others who have stepped up to be, or to become, a part of the biggest sporting event in southwest Missouri by investing time, financial resources, expertise and counsel to make this event the premier stop on the Korn Ferry Tour. Over the past 30-plus years, thousands of young lives have been touched through the more than $17.3 million this tournament has given to a number of children’s charities. Last year, despite a worldwide pandemic and despite not being allowed to have spectators onsite for the tournament, we were able to donate $830,406 to 49 different charities due to the generosity of businesses, families and individuals just like you. It is our intent and primary goal to continue to raise as much as possible to share with the charities that we are supporting. While supporting children’s charities is our primary goal, we are also providing an opportunity and venue for the future of the PGA TOUR. During professional play, you will have an opportunity to witness some of the greatest young golfers who will be headline players on the PGA TOUR as soon as next season. The Korn Ferry Tour has taken the necessary steps to become the second-best professional golf circuit in the world after the PGA TOUR. I hope you are as excited as I am to watch the future of the PGA TOUR right here in Springfield! Thank you for attending the 2021 Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance to you during the tournament activities.

Jerald L. Andrews Executive Director

Erick Taylor Every day in the Ozarks a child is finding hope and given help from organizations funded by the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. By providing medical care, a safe place to call home, an advocate, a chance to participate, or simply a friend to play with, these organizations are serving children and turning hope into reality. At Price Cutter, we’re proud to have been the title sponsor of this exceptional tournament for over 20 years, which has helped raise millions of dollars for children’s charities across the Ozarks. We put our heart into this event because we want all the Ozark’s children to enjoy a healthy, happy childhood. On behalf of our more than 1,700 employee-owners, I’d like to thank the many organizations and sponsors for once again donating generous amounts of time, talent, and financial support to make the Price Cutter Charity Championship possible. To address the thousands of spectators attending this year’s event, a special thank you this year more than ever for supporting the kids of our community and demonstrating why the Ozarks is such a wonderful place to call home. Erick Taylor President and CEO Price Cutter

Gold 159 Blue 140 Handicap 15 A short, well bunkered par 3. Miss the green and face a tough up and down from these severe bunkers. Spectators can get a good view from behind this little green.

HOLE PAR 4

7

Gold 422 Blue 396 Handicap 1 What a hole! A sharp dogleg left with an approach over the water. The putting surface nestles on the water’s edge and has a severe slope front to back on this two-tiered green. Caution is the key here-par is no easy task. A great, shaded spectator area lies just behind the green. SPONSORED BY

HOLE PAR 5

MARSHALED BY

8

Gold 544 Blue 511 Handicap 7 A fairway bunker has been added to this downhill par 5, which makes reaching the green in two more difficult and will require a drive of 310 yard carry to clear the bunker. A cautious tee shot demands a lay-up short of a small pond guarding the front and right of the green, leaving a short approach. Only a short walk from the clubhouse, spectator can enjoy lots of eagles, birdies , pars and “others.” SPONSORED & MARSHALED BY

HOLE PAR 4

9

Gold 424 Blue 396 Handicap 11 Water down the left side and out-of-bounds to the right make a large landing area appear very narrow. A mistake on this tee shot will cost the player dearly. A mid or short iron approach remains after a good drive. SPONSORED & MARSHALED BY

HOLE PAR 4

10

Gold 394 Blue 370 Handicap 12 A slight dogleg right with a bunker and tree guarding the dogleg. A pair of bowls on the front portion of the green make for a difficult approach.

HOLE PAR 5

11

Gold 535 Blue 510 Handicap 8 This hole can be reached in two with a long draw off the tee, leaving a long-iron approach to a front-bunkered, two-tiered green. Spectators positioned behind this green can enjoy exciting par five action, as well as a tense tee shot over water on the twelfth. SPONSORED & MARSHALED BY

HOLE PAR 4

12

Gold 397 Blue 363 Handicap 4 This tee has been extended 45 yards, which will require a much longer approach shot. With water guarding the right side of the fairway and front of the green, the tee shot is aimed at the fairway bunker - this tee shot can make or break a player’s round. 14

Gold 427 Blue 384 Handicap 2 A long iron or fairway wood lay-up down the right side of the creek bed is the shot on “the 1000-year old hole.” A well-placed drive will leave a mid-to-long iron approach to a green guarded by a hazard on the right side. The end of our “Amen Corner”

17

Gold 460 Blue 413 Handicap 10 A powerful drive is a real asset on this lengthy par four. Large bunkers guard both sides of a generous landing area. Approach is to an elevated, two-tiered green. Numerous large trees provide much appreciated shade for spectators around this green. SPONSORED BY

Gold 542 Blue 522 Handicap 14 A breathtaking view atop the highest point of the course. The tee shot is aimed toward the lake some 400 yards away and the landing area looms over 100 feet below. A long tee ball creates the chance of going for the island-like green in two. A lay-up leaves a wedge to a large heart-shaped green.

The basic structure remains intact to this day, with the top 25 Points winners from the Regular Season (The 25) being guaranteed PGA TOUR cards for the following PGA TOUR season, and 25 additional cards (The Finals 25) being available through the threetournament Korn Ferry Tour Finals. The field makeup for the Finals is broken down as follows: the top 75 Points leaders from the Korn Ferry Tour at the end of the Chesson Hadley, 2017 winner of The Regular Season, PGA TOUR members 25 and The Finals 25 who are 126-200 on the FedExCup points list following the Wyndham Championship, and non-members who would have earned enough FedExCup points to place them 126-200 on the official FedExCup points list. A few notes regarding the structure of the Finals: 1. While the top 25 players from the Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season (The 25) will earn their PGA TOUR cards, their order of priority will not be determined until the conclusion of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. They will now carry their Points into the Finals, and priority will be established on the combination of Regular Season and Finals Points. 2. Of those players from the Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season Top-25 list, the No. 1 player at the conclusion of the Finals based on combined Regular Season and Finals Points will receive fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR. So any Top-25 player can earn the coveted No. 1 position if he performs well enough in the three Finals events. In addition to his PGA TOUR exemption, the No. 1 player receives an exemption into THE PLAYERS Championship for the upcoming season. A separate Points list for the Korn Ferry Tour Finals will determine the final 25 PGA TOUR cards (The Finals 25). The player who earns the most Points during the three Finals events (excluding the first 25 from the Regular Season) will earn fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR plus an invitation to THE PLAYERS. Also note that any player in The 25 who earns enough Points solely as a result of his play in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals events such that he would have been No. 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour Finals Points List shall be placed in the No. 1 position on that list and shall be entitled to the benefits of that position. In such case, such player’s other position on The 25 shall be skipped and the ordering of players shall continue as identified above. In such case, the leading 25 players from The Finals 25 will still earn their PGA TOUR card. Note: In this case, if the same player wins The 25 and The Finals 25 (such as Chesson Hadley in 2017), his will be the only available fully-exempt position on the PGA TOUR the following season, and the next-highest finisher on The Finals 25 will not be fully exempt. 3. The ordering of all 50 players after the Korn Ferry Tour Finals will be done on an alternating basis, with the top position going to the leading Points winner from The 25, and the second position going to the leading Points winner from The Finals 25. The sequence then alternates between The 25 (Nos. 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.) and The Finals 25 (Nos. 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.) through the 25th player on both lists. HISTORY OF THE

The Korn Ferry Tour has established itself as the premier pathway to the PGA T O U R , and is making moves to be the unquestioned No. 2 golf tour in the world. The tour has very humble beginnings, though, and was the brainchild of former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, who wanted to create a viable pathway to the PGA TOUR. What is now known worldwide as the Korn Ferry Tour started 31 years ago as the Ben Hogan Tour, with its first-ever tournament—the Bakersfield Open—held in 1990. The goal then is very similar to today’s goal: to cultivate the game’s next generation of rising stars. Back then, there was no real pathway for golfers to gain PGA TOUR status other than by completing the dreaded Q-School. Started in 1965, the annual PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament—a mental gauntlet known simply as Q-School—was the primary pathway to PGA TOUR membership. Golfers who survived regional qualifying got the privilege of competing in the Q-School finals, which featured six 18-hole rounds of physically demanding and mentally draining golf. The top 30 finishers at Q-School gained PGA TOUR status for the following season, while those who finished outside the top-30 were forced to compete elsewhere before the following season’s Q-School provided another opportunity for PGA TOUR membership. There were various mini tours across the country, but most players with TOUR dreams back then headed overseas to play on tours in Europe, Asia and Australia.

Players who were able to survive Q-School, though, only earned the right to compete in a Monday qualifier. There was no guaranteed full-time PGA TOUR status. If a player Monday qualified and then made the cut in an event, they earned the right to compete the following week. If a golfer failed to remain in the top-60 on the PGA TOUR money list, though, they lost their exempt status and were forced to compete in Q-School again the following year. In an attempt to provide alternatives to Q-School, other early playing tours sought to offer players a chance to gain full PGA TOUR playing status and included the AllExempt TOUR and the Tournament Players Series. Seeking to establish a developmental circuit that would supplant these early qualifying opportunities, under the direction of Beman the PGA TOUR authorized the creation of a new Tour in 1988. There was a main requirement, though, that the new circuit secure a corporate umbrella sponsor that would pay the bulk of the prize money to help ease the financial strain on communities hosting tournaments for the new Tour. With the blessing of its legendary namesake, the Ben Hogan Co. stepped forward to become the lead corporate sponsor of the Ben Hogan Tour, a series of 30 tournaments that included stops ranging from Bakersfield, Cal., to Falmouth, Me., from Ft. Myers, Fla., to Boise, Ida., and from El Paso, Tex., to the Yale University Golf Club in New Haven, Conn, with a stop in Elizabethtown, Ky., for good measure. The tour stops were close enough for players to drive in between each week but were staged nowhere near the

vicinity of existing PGA TOUR, Senior Tour or LPGA events. A $250 entry fee got a golfer into each event—which consisted of 54 holes back then—where golfers competed for a $100,000 purse, $20,000 of which went to the winner. From its inception, the top five money winners on the Ben Hogan Tour automatically received PGA TOUR cards for the following season, thus avoiding the requirement of Q-School and thereby creating a big incentive for up-andcoming golfers to focus their time and efforts to competing full-time on the new Tour, and a place for former PGA TOUR players to regain their TOUR cards without having to compete overseas in Europe or Asia. Players who did not “pass” Q-School (which by that time had increased to the top-45 and ties) would gain full Hogan Tour status and compete the following season. Prior to the first Hogan Tour season in 1990, a onetime Hogan Tour Qualifying Tournament was held to determine that first year’s Hogan Tour members. John Daly, eventual winner of two major championships on the PGA TOUR, won the 1990 qualifying tournament. While the structure of the now-Korn Ferry Tour—and its pathway to the PGA TOUR—has remained relatively the same since its inception, the title sponsor of the tour has changed several times over the years. In 1992, sneaker giant Nike bought the naming rights of the tour in its quest to gain a larger market for its burgeoning golf business. The tour became known as the Nike Tour for seven seasons from 1993 through 1999, at which point it became known as the Buy.com Tour for three seasons (2000-02). Nationwide Insurance stepped forward and provided the tour with some long-term stability for over nine seasons. The Nationwide Tour existed from the start of the 2003 season through the middle of 2012, at which point Web.

com became the tour’s new title sponsor, effective immediately in June 2012. In June 2019, the PGA TOUR announced a 10-year deal with Korn Ferry, a prominent California-based consulting firm, to be the tour’s new title sponsor. Since then, the tour has been recognized worldwide as the Korn Ferry Tour. The number of PGA TOUR cards handed out via the now-Korn Ferry Tour each season has increased steadily, rising from five to 10 in 1992, then to 15 (1997), and then to 20 in 2003. The number increased by one to 21 in 2005 before jumping to 22 TOUR cards in 2006. Since 2007, a total of 25 PGA TOUR cards have been awarded each season. In 2013, the then-Nationwide Tour became the source for PGA TOUR membership, replacing the annual Q-School meatgrinder. The Top 25 money winners for the season gained automatic PGA TOUR membership, with an additional 25 cards awarded via the annual tour finals. Today, the Korn Ferry Tour Finals continue to promote 25 golfers to the PGA TOUR. Q-School still exists, but now serves as the source of players for the Korn Ferry Tour. The Korn Ferry Tour is now seeking to solidify itself as the world’s second most prominent golf tour. In May, the Korn Ferry Tour announced that starting next season the purse at every Korn Ferry Tour stop will increase to $750,000. In 2023, each Korn Ferry Tour stop will hand out a cool $1 million in purse money. It is a bold and concrete move to firmly establish the Korn Ferry Tour as the world’s second-best golf tour after the PGA TOUR. The best up-andcoming golfers in the world, from local PGA Golf Pros to collegiate champions, are playing on the Korn Ferry Tour each season in a quest to earn one of those coveted 50 spots for PGA TOUR membership. As a result, the future of the PGA TOUR is playing right now on the Korn Ferry Tour.

HISTORY OF THE

The Price Cutter Charity Championship has forever benefitted local children’s charities, having raised over $17.3 million for charities since its inception. With the 32nd tournament set to be played July 22-25, 2021, the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper continues to gain strength and does so thanks to a number of factors, including the growth of the Korn Ferry Tour and the continued support of Price Cutter Supermarkets and Ozarks-area sponsorships, volunteers, Highland Springs Country Club and tournament staff. The continued support of Price Cutter, which has been a presenting or title sponsor for the past 23 years, has been significant. Additionally, a number of events, such as the addition of multiple pro-ams and the creation of other tournament-affiliated events and programs— such as the TLC Properties Charity Sweepstakes, the Harvest Moon Festival and the Platinum Clubs and Clays—have combined to make it all happen. The tournament has stared down numerous challenges, most notably the recession of 2008 and 2009 and the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic of last year, yet still found a way to thrive. For example, despite the restrictions placed on the tournament by the pandemic last year, including learning just 10 days before the tournament that no spectators would be permitted onsite, the Price Cutter Charity Championship still found a way to give $830,406 to charities in 2020. “We cannot enjoy success in this tournament without help from across the Ozarks, or without the national support of the PGA and Korn Ferry Tours,” said Jerald Andrews, who is entering his 26th year as the Tournament Director of the Price Cutter Charity Championship. “It’s truly a team and community effort that has kept it alive and successful for more than a quarter century.” 76

Price Cutter Supermarkets calls it “a blessing” to help make a difference in the community. “We were approached and wanted to step up,” said Rob Marsh, Vice President of Operations for Price Cutter Supermarkets. “We obviously wanted to continue the cause. We’ve just seen all of the good that has come of it. We like that all the money stays with local children’s charities.” What is now known as the Korn Ferry Tour launched in February 1990 as the Ben Hogan Tour and was the brainchild of then-PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, who sought a proving ground for up-and-coming golfers and a place for PGA TOUR veterans to hone their skills ahead of the Champions Tour. Today, there remain four Korn Ferry Tour stops that have been part of the tour for all 32 years. The Price Cutter Charity Championship is one of that quartet (the other three original tour stops include Boise, Idaho; Knoxville, Tenn.; and Wichita, Kan.). Only two of those four tour stops have been played at the same golf course every year, including the Price Cutter Charity Championship and its longtime home at Highland Springs Country Club. In 1989, iconic Springfield-area real estate developer John Q. Hammons was just completing construction of Highland Springs Country Club, and the Ben Hogan Tour required a 501(c)(3) non-profit to run any tournament and pay the purse. The Hammons Foundation was a natural fit. At the time, the Executive Director of the PGA’s Midwest Region was Perry Leslie, a former PGA TOUR player who was the Director of Golf at Highland Springs. He helped steer the tour to Springfield. What started as the Ben Hogan Tour has undergone many name changes over the years. Seeking to market its golf equipment and apparel to a larger audience, Nike replaced the

Ben Hogan Co. as the tour’s title sponsor from 1993 to 1999. Since then, other corporations have stepped forward to serve as the title sponsor of the tour, including Buy.com (2000 to 2002), Nationwide Insurance (2003 to 2012) and Web.com (2012 to 2019). In June 2019, the PGA TOUR announced a 10-year deal with Korn Ferry, a prominent California-based consulting firm, to be the tour’s new title sponsor. Since then, the tour has been recognized worldwide as the Korn Ferry Tour. In Andrews’ first year as the tournament director, the tournament gave away $155,000 to four different charities, which included A Sporting Chance, Boys & Girls Club, Ronald McDonald House, and Special Olympics. That total was more than double the money given the previous year. In 2014, as the tournament celebrated its 25th year, Andrews called on sponsors to reach deeper and for other businesses to hop on board. Under Andrews’ leadership, the tournament went outside the box to add new and innovative programs, which included the inaugural Harvest Moon Festival, a spirited culinary marvel that continues to be one of the top revenue-producers on the deep slate of Price Cutter Charity Championship programs and activities. The push to make the tournament’s Silver Anniversary special paid off in a mighty way, as the tournament gave away over $1 million to charity in 2014. The Price Cutter Charity Championship continues to lead the way on the Korn Ferry Tour with its charitable giving and new and innovative fundraising programs. In addition to the tour-sanctioned Wednesday Pro-Am, Springfield was the first stop on tour to host an offsite Pro-Am when the Silver Dollar City

Pro-Am debuted in Branson. Each Korn Ferry Tour stop hosts one tour-sanctioned Wednesday Pro-Am. A few Korn Ferry Tour stops have a Monday Pro-Am and a couple others have three or so other playing opportunities. The Price Cutter Charity Championship offers 11 unique playing opportunities, including the Betty Allison Women’s Pro-Am, the only women’s pro-am on tour. The Silver Dollar City Pro-Am brought with it a couple of additional charities in Camp Barnabas and Tri-Lakes KLIFE. When Price Cutter became the title sponsor 23 years ago, it brought with it an additional eight charities. Today, nearly 50 charities will directly benefit from the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. Volunteer numbers also have grown from 600 in the first year of the tournament to over 1,000 now. “Overall, it’s been a rewarding experience,” Andrews added. “I’ve enjoyed seeing what the charities have been given. It’s been a blessing. That’s our measuring stick.” 77

Champions Committed to Kids was created with one purpose: to rekindle the athletic dreams of children 5 to 18 years old struggling with serious illness or disability by giving them the opportunity to be a part of their favorite local high school, college, university, or pro team. The coach and athletes become a part of these kids' lives through their interaction at all home games, while the kids draw hope and inspiration as they watch and cheer from the team bench. To learn more about the powerful bonds we build between children with medical conditions/disabilities and local athletic teams, visit us at www.ChampionsCommittedtoKids.com or follow us on Facebook.
