3 **** VALENTINE ROBERTSON **** ========================================= Franklin Patterson Robertson, a son of Berry Robertson and great grandson of VALENTINE ROBERTSON told his children that Valentine was the first Robertson in our line to come to America. Also that Valentine acted as interpreter between the Gaelic speaking passengers and the English crew on the ship in which he came to America. The first record which I found of VALENTINE ROBERTSON was in the 1790 census of Rutherford County, North Carolina. In that census he had two sons and one daughter. ---------------------------------------------------------------In the 1800 Buncombe County, North Carolina Census, Page 187, Valentine had the following family: (Buncombe County was taken from Burke and Rutherford Counties in 1791) Valentine was over 45 years of age in 1800. He had: 3 sons under 10 1 son between 10 and 16 2 daughters under 10 1 daughter between 10 and 16 His wife was between 26 and 45 years. -------------------------------------------------------------In the 1810 Buncombe County, N.
