The Prairie There are big fires on the prairie.Tree can’t live on the prairie. A prairie can have a lot of snow. Mice eat grasshoppers. Fox eat mice. There are many types of grasses. Prairie chickens are funny. A prairie is a open area of land. A prairie can be near the ocean. People raise cows in the summer. About 60 million buffalo lived on the prairie. Jackrabbit eat plants.Bison have flat teeth. Lions hunt zebras. Giraffes have long necks. Elephants have long trunks. Plants grow on the prairie. Blackbird wear nest of soft grass. A prairie is a home to a lot of animals. Bison need water and food. North America has three types of prairie. There are different types of leaves in the prairie. Prairie dogs eat grasses. Garter snakes eat mice. prairie chickens can fly up to 50 miles per hour. Owls hunt for food at night. Frogs have bumpy skin.

PRAIRIES Prairies look very dry. Some prairies have low bushes. Many different grasses grow on plains. Plains have lions and deer. Prairies are really hot. Some prairies have snow. The grasses may be short, tall or mixed in prairies. Fessents live on plains. Prairie dogs are mammals that live in underground in tunnels called berose. Bison used to live throughout America's prairies. Kids play on prairies. People raise cows on plains. It is really really hot. Snakes eat birds there. Sometimes prairies have rolling hills. You will find feces there. About one fourth of America's land is grassland. Grasslands are home to many grasses. Tropical grasslands grow close to the equator. Tornadoes go across them and sand storms to. Fire is important to the grasslands. Prairies are large pieces of land..G grasses grow in wide open spaces around the world. Deserts Desert look like large bodies of sand.They are very hot. Some are sandy and covered with sand dunes.There is very little water. The temperature in the desert can reach as high as130 degree. Many animals live in the desert like camels, taranchulas, tortoise, and fox. Animals look for food at night. Plants go without water. Some deserts are hot and cold. by LUKAS svalen

MOUNTAINS Mountains are tall and steep. Some mountains have snow on top. They are bigger than the land around them. Sometimes mountains are cold or hot. Did you know that there are horses are at the bottom of mountains. If mountains are together on both sides with a stream in the middle of mountain, it is called a valley. Leopards, birds, yak, goats, and other living animals live on mountains. By Aubrie Overson


Oceans Ocean has lots of water and sand.Oceans are biggest peas of water.Sea lions sometimes sit on rocks.There are more than 2000 animals that live in the ocean.There are 100,000 of animals in the ocean.There are 4 oceans in earth.Sharks eat fish.The ocean is sometimes 55 or it is 100 degrees.Crabs shells fall off when it is a new year then they find a new one. A ocean is a huge body of water.Oceans cover most of the water.The Pacific Ocean is about 8500 miles (1700 cm.A whale shark haves 27.000 little teeth in a row.There are not very much trees at the ocean.Wheels are about 25 mills long.You can not see the end of the ocean.The blue whale is the biggest animal in the ocean.The smallest animal that lives in ocean is the crayfish.There are more than 30 different kinds of dolphins.There are more than 2000 animals that live in the ocean and sea.The ocean and sea is full of animals. River A river is a body of water. It is water that makes a path. They also are surrounded by mountains. River always flow downhill. Rivers can have sand at the bottom. Beavers, grizzly bears, otter,crayfish, king fischer, snakes, salmon, wallows, piranhas, perch live in rivers. Some otters slid down rivers. Lizards live on rocks in rivers. Cattails live by rivers. Flowers, trees, and plants live around rivers. Rivers are surrounded by rocks. By: Easton


Rivers Rivers make electricity. Rivers can be slow.They can have fish.They would be 5000 rivers in every state if each had the same number.Rivers flow on all continents.Rivers can flow for miles and miles.Rivers can be brown.North America has the most rivers.Rivers make curves.Rivers have ells.They have crayfish.Rivers always have headwater.You can go tubing on a slow rivers.Rivers are bodies of water moving through a channel.Rivers start on mountains and tall hills.Some rivers you can go on. be Adyson Gallagher.

Hills Hills can be hard to find on maps. Mountains get wind and rain. Animals that live in the mountains are black bears and grizzly bears. Hills are formed in many ways. Hill can be smaller than mountains. The Black Hills are famous. Hlls are made of dirt. They can be rock covered with dirt frozen water. They can be steep. Weather often erodes hills. North America has hills.Hills are less than 1,000 feet. Hills have grass growing on the side and the top. Hills can be built in many ways. The Black Hills in South Dakota are in the middle of flat plains. The Black Hills are also very old. People can live on hills. by Kendra Hager


Islands Islands are the best. Some are small and some are big. Some can have 1 to 3 trees. Islands have tortoise and kiwi birds.Some birds live there, but these birds aren’t kiwi birds. They are normal birds.Sometimes it is hot there.When it gets hot the trees will die and they wouldn’t survive. They can get hot but it can get to 70 degrees.There are rocks on the island.There are a tons of grass there.Some little rocks that are really really small. Some islands have a steep hill. Animals hide during the day, especially tortoise in the water.On a island, there are a lot of animals. When it is night time, all the animals go to sleep. When it is light out, the animals come out. LAKES A lake is a large pool of fresh water surrounded by land. Lake Baikad in siberia Russia is the biggest lake in the world.Fresh water is not salty.Some lakes are small and some are big.some Lakes are even too big to see across.Long ago glaciers covered most of the earth.A glacier is a frozen lake.Sunlight can reach the bottom of shallow lakes.plants can grow where there is sunlight.Most lakes are shallow near the shore and deeper in the middle.Glaciers carved many holes in the land as they moved.The melted ice filled the holes and became lakes.Glaciers made many lakes.Sometimes crater lakes form in the tops of volcanoes.Snacks live in lakes.Fish live in lakes.
