STAGE ONE: NEW BORN PANDA The first stage of a Panda's life cycle is a new born panda. When a panda is born it is deaf and blind. A new born panda is helpless right after it's birth. They also are pink and hairless. New born pandas weigh to 3-5 ounces.

In 2-3 weeks they start getting black and white spots. They still need their mothers care when they are 3 weeks old. New born cubs eat milk from their mother. They start eating bamboo when they are 8 months old. Bamboo - a tall plant with hard hollow stems that are used for building.


STAGE TWO: PANDA CUB

The second stage of a pandas's life cycle is a Panda cub. Before a cub is two years old they can survive without it's mother. survive - to remain alive to continue to live.

Cubs can leave their mother when they are about 2 years old.Panda cubs like to explore their new home after they leave their mother.They must watch out for wild dogs called dholes.(DOLZ).By then they know how to look for food.


STAGE THREE: A YOUNG PANDA Once a growing panda left it's mother,they wander around to look for food,water and shelter. They mark the area with their scent to let other young pandas not to stay there.A growing panda does not spend time with other growing pandas. It is hard but they can find a safe place to hide with food and water.

So c STAGE u te! FOUR: FULL GROWN PANDA The last stage of a Panda's life cycle is a full grown panda. Pandas can have a cub when it's 5 years old. Adult pandas are 4 to 5 feet,and weigh about 250 pounds.Their fur is very thick,oily and and woolly.A female panda has five to eight cubs in her life.

HOW A PANDA SURVIVES

How does a Panda eat and drink? The bamboo has liquid inside for the panda to drink .(New bamboo shoots are about 90% water). liquid-a substance that is able to flow freely. It also needs their large molars for crushing bamboo, they can deliver a very nasty bite.

Where does a panda live? They live in china only in places that are humid and very hot places.Giant pandas live in large bamboo forests on humid and relatively high mountains.Currently, about 1,600 giant pandas live in over 20,000 square kilometers (8,000 mi2) of habitat.

How does a panda protect itself?

The mother panda protect its baby by hiding in a tree or den.As cuddly as they may look, pandas can protect themselves as well as most other bears by using their physical strength, and powerful jaws and teeth.
