Ryan Peterson
Shiner High School GPA 4.0
Ryan Peterson tore the ulnar collateral ligament during his sophomore season in baseball.
He was limited during Shiner’s run to the 2021 Class 2A, Division I state football championship. But he returned and helped the Comanches reach the Class 2A state final in baseball and was named the Player of the Year on the all-state team.
Peterson did not rest on his laurels as a senior, as he played quarterback and in the secondary for the football team, helped the basketball team secure a playoff berth, and returned to pitch and play shortstop in baseball. His busy schedule did not prevent him from accumulating a 4.0 grade-point average.
He also found time to participate in the Shiner Elementary Field Day and volunteer to work in the concession stand for younger grades basketball games.
Peterson will continue his athletic and academic career at Sam Houston State University in the next school year.
