CANADIAN WESTERN BANK

Above is the final product of my Canadian Western Bank. I wanted to incorporate the surrounding architecture into the shape and 2 appearance of my bank, so I kept my bank rigid and linear to relate to the E=MC building just south of the proposed lot and used wood siding for my exterior in order to tie in to the western theme that is portrayed by The Ranch directly east of the proposed site. I wanted to keep the bank as energy efficient as possible so I used as much clear story glazing as possible in order to allow in maximum sunlight, in turn heating the building without the use of burning fuels. The skylight on the roof of the building also opens in the summer allowing the warm air to vent, thus giving the building a natural passive ventilation system, eliminating the use of mechanical HVAC units. The bank also has a grey water collection system. Storing rainwater runoff and then using the water for flushing toilets and irrigation.
