Emily donated a Team Canada jacket, which was won by the Sillem family from Fernie. Shona and Ben Sillem also made the successful bid for a World Cup race bib that was auctioned off by Emily in aid of the Haiti earthquake appeal earlier this year. Last week Emily signed the jacket and gave signed posters and photos to their sons Jarod, 11, who is in K1 level of Emily’s former team Fernie Alpine Ski Team, Bodie, six-and-a-half, who is in the Nancy Green program, and Gabe, four, who already “skis like a machine� accordOn February 12 we published a Good Luck Emily poster, ing to his mom.

The hoodie and boots were won by Andy Aichholz of Elkford who had been on the track building team for the moguls events in Vancouver and is now hoping to work at Sochi 2014.

Our Olympics Memorabilia charity auction included signed clothes and equipment kindly donated by local athletes Emily Brydon (alpine skiing) Alex Gough (luge) and Danielle Poleschuk (ski cross).

Olympics Charity Auction ree Press readers and advertisers have donated $1,122 to the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation through a series of fundraisers in our newspaper. This amount will be enough to send three children to camp this summer, who would not otherwise have been able to attend.
