Terry Fox school walk tally is impressive By Brad Quarin Local youth excelled in carrying the torch for Terry Fox in a series of walks at the end of September. In various ways, the schools raised funds for cancer research and the Terry Fox Foundation. Pincher Creek’s Canyon School led the pack, successfully raising $5,730.35. St. Michael’s School raised over $974 and Matthew Halton High School brought in around $400. Livingstone School in Lundbreck was the first school in the area to have a Terry Fox Walk this year, and raised about $200 for the Terry Fox Foundation. In Crowsnest Pass, Horace Allen School, Isabelle Sellon School and Crowsnest Consolidated High School united to carry the banner through Blairmore. HAS raised $430, ISS brought in over $350 and CCHS contributed $875 to the effort. In all cases, the students showed great spirit.
