Fished a little visited section of the Chattooga River and had a great day. 18 rainbows hit my Gray Fred with abandon with jarring strikes on my 3wgt. Some of course jumped and threw my Grey Fred back to me but that’s what happens when you fish with barbless hooks.

How to tie and use a Gray Fred The Gray Fred is a Scandinavian sea trout fly that I used successfully to fool Polish and French trout when I was working there. It also fools trout anywhere that I have used it. Toss it upstream to get it near the bottom, and use the high stick method and allow it to stretch out your fly line while it swings. You can strip it back at the end of the drift – be ready to strike…

Easy wading – usually lots of fish Cabin sleeps 4 $75 per night plus cleaning fee Be respectful of property and people. No smoking inside cabin. Dogs must be well behaved, house trained, nonaggressive towards other dogs or people. Dogs may not be left alone in cabin while you leave for the day. Unless they are kept in a crate. There is a dog fee of $15 Amenity limitations - The cabin is very remote. Closest towns with stores, restaurants, or shops of any kind, are at least 35 minutes away. Dirt road to access cabin.
