1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 327ci / 350hp Coupe Designer: Designer: William “Bill” Mitchell Zora Duntov Estimate: $95,000 - $125,000 Without Reserve Chassis Number: 194377S101532 Decoded: 1=Chevrolet, 9=Corvette, 4=V-8, 37=Coupe, 7=1967, S=St Louis, Missouri Assembly, 101532=Serial Engine: 327cid, 400bhp V-8 Four-Speed Manual Gearbox, Front and Rear Power Disk Brakes Mileage: 00095 (since restoration) The Model – Although the exterior appearance of the second generation Corvettes changed only slightly between 1963 and the end of production in 1967, the car experienced dynamic improvements in power and performance to keep pace with its European rivals on the road and track. By 1967 the Stingray boasted power disk brakes, limited-slip differential, all-wheel independent suspension and an enviable array of engine options to make this final year of the C2 Corvette more than a match for the competition. As many buyers eagerly awaited the release of the all-new C3 Corvette, sales remained slow. Today, collectors recognize the 1967 Corvette for its modernized performance in a beautiful vintage package. Low production volume and several unique characteristics have now conspired to make the 1967 one of the most in-demand and collectible of all Corvettes. The appearance of the big block ‘Stinger hood and one-year-only bolt-on aluminum wheels are some of the more desirable options that drive the collectability of the 1967 Stingray. The Car – This 1967 Corvette is presented with just 95 miles since a fresh complete frame-off restoration to magnificent standards. This car is breathtaking in its factory-correct Ermine White with red interior and sports a factory side exhaust system. The appealing big block ‘Stinger’ hood and the rare cast-aluminum wheels were only available in 1967, and further set this car apart from the pack. The restoration included a complete rebuild of the original matching-numbers drivetrain to deliver over 400 bhp on the dyno. The drivetrain is subtly upgraded with 3.55:1 gearing. A fully modernized sound system hides discreetly within the vintage radio. Factory air conditioning tops the long list of options that also includes headrests, power disk brakes and power steering. Even the original sales sheet, books, jack, tools and floor mats are present. Included are detailed photographic records of the restoration and servicing. With receipts topping $130,000, no shortcuts were taken in resurrecting this car to brilliant showroom condition. This incredible car is offered at no reserve. The last bidder will take home the pinnacle of second-generation Corvettes. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M
