Car - According to our consignor this Imperial limousine was ordered by Phillip Wrigley, heir to the chewing gum magnate’s vast assets. Wanting the passenger compartment kept as private as possible, the optional occasional seats were not specified. After Mr. Wrigley’s ownership the trail grows cold, but it was acquired by our consignor in the early 1970’s. In good mechanical condition at that time, little was ever done to, or with this car, and shortly after it joined his collection, it was stashed away in a rural Texas barn. Today the car is an unmolested original vehicle with the smooth black leather seat for the driver while the passenger compartment is appointed in rich wool broadcloth. While the engine hasn’t been run in several decades, it is complete down to the dual carburetors and their oil-bath air-cleaners. For the new owner they can decide to erase 40 plus years of the patina of storage, clean it back to its original beauty, or perform a full, concours style restoration.
