Motor Resource was founded in 2009 in Las Vegas. We are primarily an automotive marketing and publication company. We started with corporate marketing and advertising for big brands then grew into a machine to drive traffic and bring value to our advertisers. We built a team that can rival anything in the marketing game today. We are driven by passion and are ever changing due to social media and SEO algorithm changes. We are now in the era of letâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s not fix what we broke we now just replace it. TV and Billboards are being replaced by our mobile devices. In 1903 the Wright brothers put the first plane in successful flight and it changed the world. In 1885 Karl Benz created the first automobile in Germany, then Henry Ford created the Model T Ford in 1908 and sold over 15 million cars it was the longest production run of any automobile in history, until the Volkswagen Beetle surpassed it in 1972. The automobile had the greatest economic and social impact in the United States.

Back in the seventy’s the bench mark we had for speed was the Ford Model T. People made cars fast in the garage with home made parts then tuned it and tried everything under the sun. This is what Hot Rod’s, drive in’s and that era was all about in the car culture. Today automakers are making automobiles that are flat out amazing. You can walk into a dealership and drive out with a car that will do over 200mph and drive it everyday. We have trucks and suv’s now that will run circles around what we thought was fast in the 90’s. It’s important to know our past and history. We need to embrace it because it got us to where we are now. We are moving forward not going back. Human beings built the automobile then ideas and technology kept moving forward to the point we are at now. Elon Musk opened a company named it Tesla in 2003 making electric vehicles. They are now a technology company that builds cars and became the best selling electric car sold in 2015. They built a rocket ship then put a Tesla car on the roof and put it into space just because they could. One more time we as human beings put a car into orbit just because we could in 2018. The time is now and all of us are living in the best era ever. We are living longer and have the opportunity to talk with anyone around the globe from the palm of our hand. Our grandparents are taking selfies and sending grand kids emojis. Look how far we have came in 100 years. Thank you for spending time with us and we look forward to tomorrow because it’s amazing. We love motorcycle builders and Japanese motorcycle specialist. CUSTOM WORKS ZON built a custom model commissioned by BMW Motorrad. The centerpiece of the machine is the prototype of a completely new boxer engine.

Yuichi Yoshizawa was thrilled to collaborate with BMW Motorrad: “It was a great honor and a challenge to be able to build a motorcycle around the prototype of such a spectacular new boxer engine for one of the most tradition-steeped manufacturers.”

CUSTOM WORKS ZON was founded by Yuichi Yoshizawa and Yoshikazu Ueda in the prefecture of Shiga in 2003 and is wellknown for its exceptional creations. The custom builders are regularly invited to well-known shows in the customizer scene such as “Mama Tried Show” in Milwaukee, “The Hand Built Motorcycle Show” in Austin and the “Brooklyn Invitational”. The small workshop has lots of prizes and awards on its shelves – clear evidence of the builders’ skill, craftsmanship and distinctive style.

There was much speculation at the show about the prototype engine. The external geometry and visible elements such as the push rods running above the cylinders in chrome-plated protection ducts recall BMW Motorrad boxer engines that were built until the late 1960s. ZON’s style can be recognized by the classic styling, modern production techniques and a wealth of craftsmanship in the detail. The low silhouette of the bike is reminiscent of record-breaking machines of the late 1920s

and 1930s. The large 21 front and 26 rear inch wheels are fitted with relatively narrow tires, while the girder fork was also made of solid aluminum. The rear swinging arm is made of steel pipe and attached to the tubular space frame by means of concealed suspension. The large-volume engine is suspended in this frame structure reinforced with grid tubes. Meanwhile the fitted fuel tank, seat unit and front trim are crafted by hand from sheet metal. This custom bike by CUSTOM WORKS ZON in collaboration with BMW Motorrad created a huge buzz in the scene, earning the prestigious “Best of Show Motorcycle” award which is regarded the highest honor at this year’s Hot Rod Custom Show. The Mooneyes Show – as it is called in the customizer scene – was being held for the 27th time in Yokohama, Japan. It attracts at least 15,000 spectators every year despite the fact it lasts only one day. Car and motorcycle custom builders from all over the world present their creations, with a total of nearly 300 cars and 650 motorcycles and there are also numerous dealer stands.

Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is one of the world’s largest car brands, doing business in more than 100 countries and selling more than 4.0 million cars and trucks a year. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient vehicles that feature engaging performance, design that makes the heart beat, passive and active safety features and easy-to-use technology, all at a value. Needless to say, it’s been an awesome 100 years of the Chevrolet pick up truck. As of January 2019, the brand will continue its legacy, after they delivered their first trucks to customers in January 1918. The new 2019 Chevrolet truck has accumulated a staggering seven million miles of real-world testing before the first Silverado is delivered to customers in January 2019. Chevrolet will offer a range of trims and engine/transmission combinations to help each customer find their ideal truck.

available task lighting, a 120-volt power outlet and larger cutouts in the class-exclusive CornerStep bumpers to better accommodate steel-toed boots. The 2019 Silverado is larger than before. It is also lighter and will be available with six engine/transmission combinations, giving customers more combinations of performance, efficiency and value to best fit their priorities. This includes new 5.3L and 6.2L V-8s. For the first time the Silverado will also be available with an all-new Duramax 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel. Chevrolet offers diesel engines in more segments and models than any other brand, including Equinox, Cruze, Colorado, Express, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD and upcoming Silverado medium-duty models. Both the 3.0L diesel and 6.2L engines are paired with a new Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission as well as start/stop technology to improve fuel economy for optimum performance and efficiency. All models introduce a modern, powerful design with a strong dose of Chevy Truck DNA. For example, the “CHEVROLET” name stamped on the tailgate recalls iconic Chevy trucks of the 1950s and ‘60s, while the integrated dual exhausts and up to 33-inch tires reflect modern customer preferences. The Silverado was already the first pickup to offer 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, wireless phone charging and OnStar safety and security features.

When winter weather strikes, drivers will face out-of-the-ordinary challenges when they get behind the wheel. Snow, slush or icy roads are involved in nearly one in four weather-related vehicle crashes. When you get on the road, remember speed limits are meant for dry roads, not roads covered in snow and ice. You should reduce your speed and increase your distance between cars as road conditions and visibility worsen. Be cautious when on bridges and overpasses they will be the first areas to become icy and avoid passing snow plows and sand trucks. The drivers can have limited visibility, and the road in front of them could be worse than the road behind. MOTOR RESOURCE

RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING WINTER DRIVING TIPS:

• Watch weather reports prior to a longdistance drive or before driving in isolated areas. Delay trips when especially bad weather is expected.

• Don’t stop going up a hill. There’s nothing worse than trying to get moving up a hill on an icy road. Get some inertia going on a flat roadway before you take on the hill.

• Accelerate and decelerate slowly. Applying the gas slowly to accelerate is the best method for regaining traction and avoiding skids. Don’t try to get moving in a hurry. And take time to slow down for a stoplight. Remember: It takes longer to slow down on icy roads.

• Let a friend or two know the roads you plan on using and estimated arrival times etc. It’s a good idea to check in and let people know you are safe. If you get stuck or slide off the road it can help someone find you.

• Know your brakes. Whether you have antilock brakes or not, the best way to stop is threshold breaking. Keep the heel of your foot on the floor and use the ball of your foot to apply firm, steady pressure on the brake pedal. • Never warm up a vehicle in an enclosed area, such as a garage. Can cause deadly carbon monoxide gas to leak into the passenger compartment with the engine running. • Keep your gas tank at least half full to avoid gas line freeze-up.

• If possible, avoid using your parking brake in cold, rainy and snowy weather. It can freeze and get stuck in the locked position. • Have snow chains or cables, then know how to install them correctly. • Always make sure your vehicle is in peak operating condition by having it inspected by the shop you use and let them know you are headed to a different climate. If you notice batteries like to fail when they get super hot or cold when they are a little older. • Keep warm extra warm clothes and a flashlight just in case you do become stranded.

A Law passed named SB259 provides people convicted of a DUI an opportunity to resume their lives driving and will be reducing chances that they will drive under the influence again. Anyone arrested on DUI charges must now install a device that measures blood alcohol levels prior to operating their vehicle. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s called an ignition interlock device and other states report over a 16% drop of drunk drivers. The new law will give an opportunity to someone convicted of a DUI a chance to drive again. Once the device is in place, a driver must blow into it each time they want to go somewhere. If it detects even a trace of alcohol, the vehicle wonâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t start. The device also contains a camera to help ensure the person blowing into it is the one behind the wheel. If driving privileges are reinstated, drivers can receive restricted licenses that require they only operate vehicles with ignition interlock devices, including company cars. The device will cost around $80 a month for service and an install fee. Depending on bold alcohol levels the minimum in 185 days up to two years. This law will include DUI convictions of marijuana however the devices do not detect pot. Operating a motor vehicle can cost offenders their license for at least three years and could result in another prosecution. Please use

Curion Jones was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He spent the majority of his early childhood growing up in the historic West Side of Las Vegas. There was a lot of violence and criminal activity around him and he could have easily become a product of his environment. With the help of his faith in God, family and sports, Curion stayed on the straight and narrow. His parents always kept him busy with an activity and sports were one of the biggest components. He started playing organized basketball at six years old but realized it wasn’t his sport and started playing football at the age of eight. Football was the sport he fell in love with and played until he graduated from high school. Curion was fortunate enough to have parents who could afford for him to play little league football but a lot of kids around him missed out on the opportunities due to finances and broken homes. Playing sports taught Curion a lot from discipline, team work, goal setting, self-control, patience, commitment, determination, hard work, dedication and amongst other great qualities that still help him till this day. A lot of kids missed out on those learning opportunities because they couldn’t engage in extracurricular activities such as sports and other organized events. There’s people Curion knows from his childhood that is either incarcerated, drug addicts or deceased due to their upbringing. Curion strongly believes if they participated in sports or other activities growing up they would have taken a different course in life. Most of them had a lot of time on their hands and were sucked into making bad decisions. He stands by his quote “A busy kid is a good kid”.

Curion has always had the philanthropy bone in him and since 2014 he has been giving back to his community. Every Thanksgiving him and his family have made 100 homemade plates of food and passed out to the homeless. During the feeding, they also hand out new socks, gloves and beanies to keep the homeless warm during the winter months. During the Christmas season, he would adopt a less fortunate family and give the kids a Christmas to remember. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces was the best present Curion could receive.

Becomes a man with purpose

Curion knew he could make a bigger impact within our community so he founded THRIVE Youth Foundation in 2016. THRIVE Youth Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to disadvantaged youth by affording them the

opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports and mentorship programs. Curion and his team are committed to providing a brighter future for the youth within our community and they believe it starts with organized activities and strong mentorship programs. Since launching, THRIVE has impacted over 200 kids through sports, mentoring and outreach events. As they know that number is small but they know it starts somewhere. Each year they plan to impact a larger amount of kids and they believe with the help of the community, corporations, foundations and other nonprofits, we can impact all the youth in Southern Nevada.

HOW THIS SPORTS COACH GOT STARTED IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY:

Sarah Dorman has been working within the fitness industry and sports coaching for over 10 years. Her passion for sports began at the young age of five years old, when she started playing field hockey. Her aspiration of being part of the industry grew naturally, and she began shadowing health professionals and top strength and conditioning coaches from the age of 16. Since studying Sports Physiology and Sports Psychology at University, she had no doubt of which career path she chose to take, and she hasn’t looked back since. The bulk of her working career has been within the prestigious gym chain of David Lloyds in Belfast, Northern Ireland which she worked at for seven years. Throughout the years she gained a vast amount of experience from working with a wide variety of clientele. This became evident when one of her clients won the PT HERO of the year competition throughout the entire David Lloyd Empire. This was a competition of over 10,000 clients. This prestige helped show the skills Sarah developed as a trainer and why she is within the top 10% trainers within the company, gaining the status and title of David Lloyds Platinum Trainer. After making a big move to the west coast of America, she continued to aim to grow as a trainer in her new work place at the exclusive David Barton gym, Las Vegas at Tivoli Village. Establishing her business for over three years now, in this fantastic

gym, she has continued to see great success with clients in America now, just as she did in Ireland previously. It is Sarah’s desire to continue to grow her knowledge throughout different aspects of training to gain greater success, with more specialized population groups. A few examples include, completion of an ante and post-natal course, cardiac rehabilitation and functional anatomy qualification. This is just a small list of the vast training courses she has completed and only the start of many more to come. The following is a list of examples from the successes Sarah has had when dealing with different clients and goals. One client with a lot of hard work climbed the base camp of mount Everest, then returned to 6,000 feet and ran a marathon. Another client in his mid 50’s had a major heart attack, then he started training with me and dropped 50 pounds, getting back to the best health he’s been in years. She has also rehabbed a client post hip replacement and got him mobilized enough to get back and playing hockey again. Another fitness client example is a mid-40-year-old female who had extremely poor health and was out of shape, dropped 60 pounds and from not being able to run 15 seconds has now completed her 2nd half marathon. Sarah says that when she sits back and takes look at her portfolio of clients and seeing any little change a client makes, it is a reminder of why she absolutely LOVES what she does.

HER MOVE TO LAS VEGAS FROM NORTHERN IRELAND:

that are turning to quick fixes and allowing health and fitness to travel further down our priority list; with that said, when people come to train with me, they are surprised at how easily I combat their busy schedules and still manage to keep them on healthy nutrition and quality exercise” says Sarah. “Most people are unable to spend 2 hours prepping food and 2 hours a day training, which is portrayed as the only way to get yourself in shape.” Through Sarah’s simplistic nutrition and quality, not quantity of training even just twice a week, she sees massive results in her clients. She also believes that you can always achieve goals when you train in methods that are specific to the time you have, body shape, traditional and progressive methods you enjoy and isolation or compound exercises that ties this all in together. It is her aim to get people to enjoy training and eliminate the guilt most feel from not being able to do what they see in fitness models and athletes. She feels as though a part of her job now is to manage realistic expectations of what a client can achieve with the limited time they have and to stop them from feeling like they are letting themselves down. Health, fitness and feeling fantastic by accomplishing small goals has to be recognized. “I’m here to help and getting someone happier and healthier is an extremely powerful phenomenon.”

When travelling across America on vacation in 2014 and experiencing as many adventures as possible, Sarah flew with Maverick helicopters to the Grand Canyon. Telling her story Sarah says “I was lucky enough to get a certain pilot who asked me out on a date, and the rest is history.” They have been together ever since and that is when she decided to make the move to Las Vegas and hasn’t regretted it for a second.

EXTERNAL WORK OTHER THAN PERSONAL TRAINING:

In addition to personal training, sports are a massive part of Sarah’s life. So, as her role as the strength and conditioning coach of the Irish U18 Field Hockey Girls, they had success in winning the European Field Hockey Championships. Picking up that gold medal and experiencing success is a testament to what she strives for as a person. Now in Las Vegas she is the strength and conditioning coach for the UNLV Rebels ice hockey team. The progress of this team has grown massively, and she aims to condition the players to able to advance to Division 1 and win this year’s National Championship in March. Another huge area of training for Sarah is running. She has competed in 5-10km races for the last seven years. This consists of flat races and obstacle course terrain. She has always gotten big groups of people together to join her in different events and have fun while exercising. Sarah says that it is fantastic to have something to train for and even better to meet and share the world of fitness with friends. “Fun and fitness go hand in hand in my eyes.”

Daytona Preparations for Alessandro Zanardi’s (ITA) guest appearance at the 24-hour race at Daytona (USA) on January 26th/27th 2019. The “Rolex 24” traditionally marks the start of the season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IMSA series). In 2019, BMW Team RLL will once again be represented in the GTLM class of the series by the BMW M8 GTEs bearing numbers 24 and 25. In the 24-hour race, Alessandro Zanardi is making a guest appearance at the 24 hour race and will share the #24 BMW M8 GTE cockpit with the two regular drivers, John Edwards (USA) and Jesse Krohn (FIN), as well as Chaz Mostert (AUS). Zanardi and BMW Team RLL had the opportunity to get to know one another better and test the BMW M8 GTE that has been modified to meet his requirements. All the drivers were able to experience dry and wet track conditions they also include day and night driving testing. What makes this team so unique is having a driver that’s an double leg amputee. In addition to

the normal pedals for Zanardi’s team-mates, the car also features a handbrake lever that allows the Italian driver, a double legamputee, to brake by hand. He also has his own steering wheel, which will be installed during the driver change, and allows him to use a throttle ring to accelerate. It’s a learning curve for driver changeovers, the objective is to complete the switch as quickly as possible between Zanardi and his non-disabled team-mates. After a short Christmas and New Year break for Zanardi, his fellow drivers, the BMW Team RLL and BMW M Motorsport, they will be back at work at Daytona on the first weekend in January. The “Roar Before the Rolex 24”, the official pre-event test ahead of the 24-hour race, is scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th January. Named after the famous daredevil, Evel Knievel himself, this pizza joint celebrates the influential figure. Order by the slice or a get whole pie to share with friends. Whether you’re in the mood for a cold beer or a cocktail they have you covered. The New York style pizza they hand toss is unparalleled, however when you walk in it’s a 1970’s feel from the great music selection, signs, skateboards, bikes, pinball machine and a statue of the famous daredevil. The feeling you get when you walk in is worth the drive. There are plenty of themes pizza restaurants in Las Vegas that don’t nail both the theme and the food. Evel Pie nailed both. Evil Knievel who was the most famous motorcycle daredevil to ever live. He jumped Ceaser’s Palace fountains in 1968 and since has become a household name. Our idea of fun is getting behind the wheel of a exotic automobile and drive it like it’s stolen after all supercars are built to be driven FAST and taking turns while the engine plays that sweet music from the exhaust.

We promise 99% of people have zero idea what a Porsche Cayenne can do on a track however the instructor will make your pulse race and adrenaline rush. After two laps they bring you back to the staging area then you will meet your personal instructor/co-pilot It’s a great experience prior to driving the supercar you picked out.

We are talking about 1.2 Mile Track, 1800 FT Main Straight Away 7 Turns 140MPH Top Speed and this place is just north of the Las Vegas Strip and it’s called Exotic Racing.

Now it’s go time you are going to get a walk around with your instructor and supercar then you will get into the drivers seat get buckled in and get familiar with the controls of the car. Remember the instructor is their to keep you safe and to make sure you have an awesome experence. Ask questions and the more you listen to them while driving the faster you will go. On a track, everything is amplified: the speed, the noise, the inertia, the body roll, pitch, yaw, everything. Your car will slip, grip, stop and move in ways you’re just not used to and it’s absolutely great. The instructor will be giving you clear instructions all the time while driving, teaching you how to take turns efficiently

You can drive to Exotic Racing and that works just fine. If you are visiting from out of town Exotic Racing offers a shuttle service from the Las Vegas Strip to the track. Option B is Limo or Helicopter because why not. When you walk in the door of Exotic Racing you will be greeted by the staff at the front desk. You will pick out a race package and what supercar you want to drive anything from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren or Porsche just to name a few. After you pick your car you are allowed to tour, touch and sit in all the

to get the most out of the experience. After a few laps you will begin to smooth out then learn to ease into and out of speed. Feel the brakes and tires, the truth is track driving does not feel like regular driving. You should notice improved lap times and speed every lap. Few laps in you will build confidence and start to smile more and more because you are starting to relax and know what to expect after a few laps. It is very driver friendly and will clear your mind of anything but the race track.

The drifting driver is AWESOME It will make you appreciate what a trained driver and 705 horsepower can do while drifting on a race track. We will be doing more company trips to Exotic Racing again for sure. Great venue, cars and experience which is why Exotic Racing has been awarded the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Preferred Local Resource Awardâ&#x20AC;? and we can highly recommend they are professionals and strive to give everyone a great experence.
