Would we always be able to find things to write about that would interest our customers and be appropriate for MOTOREX? This anniversary issue lays any doubts we may have had then to rest for good. ASPEN 2T WITH FULL RANGE TECHNOLOGY The most meaningful test results come from real-world use. That’s why the new ASPEN 2T FULL RANGE TECHNOLOGY was tested for more than two years in over 5,300 motorized devices from a wide range of brands. The reformulated alkylate fuel with 2% fully synthetic oil convincingly demonstrated residue-free combustion and optimum protection against wear in all temperature ranges. The new ASPEN FULL RANGE TECHNOLOGY is suitable for economical and environmentally friendly operation of both heavy-duty hot-running two-stroke engines and light-duty machines with lower combustion temperatures. The new ASPEN two-stroke alkylate gasoline is approved for use in all two-stroke engines from all major vendors.

Premixed MOTOREX COOLANT M2.0 heat transfer fluid meets all the requirements of thermal transfer brine.

Heat transfer fluids for heat pumps

WARMLY RECOMMENDED Renewable energy is becoming increasingly efficient. There are currently over 300,000 heat pumps and solar systems in service in Switzerland. If a system uses a heat transfer fluid, MOTOREX has the right solution with products precisely tailored for each application. In principle, a heat pump functions just like a fami

mal probe, is conveyed to the heat pump using a heat transfer fluid. The heat pump’s closed gas-filled circuit carries the heat to the evaporator. With its low boiling point, the fluid quickly turns to steam. In the compressor, the steam is compressed, thereby heating it. Finally, in the condenser, the hot steam releases its heat to the water circuit of the heating

system. The heat pump itself is powered by electricity, achieving an average efficiency of between four and five – that is, the system makes four to five times the amount of energy it consumes available as usable heat energy.

FOR GEOTHERMAL AND SOLAR THERMAL SYSTEMS In general, applications fall into two categories: geothermal (heat from the earth) and solar thermal (heat from the sun) systems. Both heat transfer fluids can be ordered as a concentrate or pre-mixed and ready to use. MOTOREX serves the needs of both categories with its COOLANT M2.0 and GLYTHERMIN P 44 products, both of which meet the applicable legal requirements (BAFU 2009) for Switzerland.

Generations of racers, a vast range of technological inno vations, and unforgettable moments of triumph and tragedy have made the 24-hour race at Le Mans the world’s toughest endurance race. MOTOREX MAGAZINE:

VARIETY, FOR THE 100th TIME

In June 1981, under the direction of Edi Bucher, the first issue of the “polymorphic” customer newsletter MOTOREX Revue was launched – the first step in creating an information channel to communicate with the 15,000 customers the company then had in Switzerland. The publication of the 100th issue is proof that MOTOREX’s 32-year endeavor has been a complete success. The year is 1981. The IBM Selectric typewriter has

The new chrome steel mixer has all the design features needed to ensure that the sophisticated process of manufacturing the latest generation of MOTOREX lubricants is efficient and minimizes energy consumption.

SMARTER MIXING Manufacturing highest-quality innovative lubricants calls for an infrastructure that is perfectly adapted to the sophisticated production process. This is why certain MOTOREX products are manufactured in specially designed mixing systems like the new chrome steel mixer with integrated conical stirrer. The blending process for a wide range of MOTOREX pro-

specified in the recipe. Nowadays, such sophisticated for-

The resulting mixing processes are extremely gentle on the materials, highly efficient and require very little energy, especially in high-capacity mixers.

The stirrer’s rotary movement causes accelerated laminar flows at the cone’s outlet and the counterflow turbulence created by back pressure at the cone’s inlet to converge, leading to self-sustaining mixing movements.

HOW IT WORKS What’s unique about the stirring system built into the new chrome steel mixer is the special geometry of the cone-shaped stirring device. Its carefully configured cavities and angles yield a perfect mixing process even at very low stirring speeds.

INVESTMENTS THAT PAY OFF As with every modernization of production equipment, it made sense to choose the current most energy-efficient solution, especially since it generally also speeds up the production process.
