VERY WELL PLAYED & STAYED
Golf Digest Middle East’s inaugural Play & Stay was a hit
Golf is a game built on tradition so what happened when Golf Digest Middle East turned the traditional Stay & Play on its head by putting the playing before the staying? Epic golf and a significant upping of the ante when it comes to the hotel side of the equation as it turns out.
But don’t take our word for it. Here’s participant Joel Alimon’s assessment of our recent weekend hosted by Radisson Hotel Dubai DAMAC Hills.
“Congratulations on this successful event. We enjoyed playing golf on the manicured Trump Int’l. Golf Club [and] the stay…with all the personal touches and entertaining events such as massages, haircuts, golf accessories etc. And, oh yes, we liked the buffet meals, breakfast, welcome drinks, plus the awards night.
Yes indeed. The good news, Joel, is that we are working on our next weekend escape. We’re betting Ryan Westby and Leigh Molineux, in particular, are staying tuned for details as well after being crowned champions of their respective divisions. Westby captured division A for 0-12 handicappers with 32 stableford points while Molineux not only won division B but also waltzed away with the nearest the pin prize on Trump Dubai’s signature 17th hole. For the record, Molineux signed for 42 points to pip James Walsh by a point in the 13-24 handicappers division.
