Covid-19 cases expected to increase as lockdown eases

Solace… An elder brother consoles his sister as they wait with hundreds of other children to receive a meal from a community based feeding scheme set up in Lavender Hill. This particular feeding scheme, organised by NPO Philisaa Abafazi Bethu and run by Lavender Hill Football Club director Mark Nicholson, provides the only meal many children receive in a day, following the closure of school feeding schemes under the national lockdown. Communities and non-profit organisations across the city, many of them organised under the Community Action Network, have come together to provide food for children and families facing starvation under lockdown regulations.
