HAVE A CHAT
Always remember, your talks are as educational as what they learn in school, so take advantage of this time to get to know your child and share some words of wisdom.
PLAN YOUR VACATION
You should always share your thoughts on possible vacation travel destinations with your kids and involve them in the decision-making process. Ask them to help you budget and plan – they’ll even have fun counting down to the trip and researching things to do.
ORGANISE A BOOK CLUB
Book clubs are a great way to get the kids to read and grow their interest in books. Depending on their age, kids can organise a book club or get their parents to help.
PLANT A GARDEN
This is one of the best way to keep the kids engaged in the summer. They’ll get to learn more about seeds and where food comes from, in addition to the importance of being healthy and leading an environmentally-friendly lifestyle.
TURN IT INTO A THEATRE
Kids love putting on a show. Get them to write their own script, memorise a play or act out a story they love. They’ll enjoy having friends and family as an audience and learn a lot.
HAVE THEM JOIN A SUMMER CAMP
Summer camps are a great way for kids to learn while having fun and making new friends. Looking for the right summer camp? Read Mother, Baby & Child to find out more. MOTHER, BABY & CHILD | JUNE 2017 | 55
