Girls Basketball Athletics Grades 3–8

June 22–26 Half-day: 8:45–11:45 a.m. Moses Brown’s girls basketball coach will guide beginners and intermediate players to have fun and play their best. Girls entering grades K–8 can develop their understanding of the game, build their skills, and enjoy fun and fitness with their friends. Sessions will focus on ball handling skills, defensive positioning, passing and shooting, 1v1 concepts, and small game play. All skill sessions and games will be played in the Waughtel-Howe Field House, which is home to the Lady Quakers. Girls will learn basketball in a fun and supportive environment, develop their leadership abilities, and learn how to give their best for the good of the team. Campers may join other MB camps in the afternoon but must register separately.

Erika Paiva

Erika is the Girls’ Basketball Camp Director and Girls’ Basketball Coach at Moses Brown School. A former Division II collegiate athlete in both basketball and soccer, she is entering her second year as the head coach of the girls’ varsity basketball team, following five years with the program as an assistant coach to long-time legendary coach Laurie Center. Erika helped lead the Quakers to a Division II State Championship in 2016 and a Rhode Island State Championship in 2018. During her time with the program, she has coached multiple All-State and AllAcademic student athletes including two-time Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018, Oluchi Ezemma. In addition to coaching basketball, Erika is also the assistant coach to Eric Aaronian and the boys’ varsity soccer team at MB.
