‘Israel Showcase’ held in Kohima Morung Express News Kohima | August 27

‘Israel Showcase, Land of Creation,’ an initiative of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism and the Tribal India Initiative was held on August 27 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima. The event was held in collaboration with Nagaland Hotels Limited, Travellers Express Club and NBCC. The Israel Showcase is mainly organized to attract Christian pilgrims to Israel, organize annual evenings in eastern states of India in association with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. It also provides information on Go Israel destination

via presentations, government representations, cultural food festivals and organizing all inclusive Holy Land package tours. Purakhu Angami, Director for the Nagaland state department of tourism appealed the Israeli Tourism Ministry to assist and help in promoting tourism in Nagaland and further invited the Ministry to the Hornbill Festival. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary of the NBCC said that the participation of NBCC in the program is very intentional. "Many of us have not visited the Holy land. For the Ministry, it may be just showcase. But our interest is more in rela-

tion with our faith. We want to promote our people to visit our heritage and tradition," added Keyho. Amenba Yaden, Parliamentary Secretary for Industries and Commerce meanwhile hoped that pilgrimage to Israel would help the people in their understanding of their faith. From a tourism point of view, Nagaland is very important especially in eco tourism, he added. Nyiro Range Youth Organization formed

Dimapur, august 27 (mExN): The various youth organizations from all the villages of the Nyiro range held a meeting on August 22 where the house officially resolved to form a parent body with the name Nyiro Range Youth Organization (NRYO). Kohima, august 27 (mExN): The Nagaland Institute of Health, Environment & Social Welfare (NIHESW), Kohima is organizing a state level bird photography competition for the students of classes 7 to 12 as a special event to mark its silver jubilee scheduled for October 30. The competition will involve photography of any wild bird in their locality, the name of the place where the photograph was taken, identification (local, common and scientific name) and a short essay about the bird, informed Honorary Director of NIHESW Dr. Vizovol Mekro in a release. The first, second and third position holders will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 7000, 5000 and 3000 respectively along with citations. There will also be five consolation prizes. The photograph of the bird along with the write up can be mailed to nihesw@yahoo.com before September 30, 2015. Contestants have been requested to send their e-mail and mobile numbers. The institute carries out activities for promotion of science education among children and also with matters related to health and environment. Presently, it is the centre for the Environmental Information System for Nagaland under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. Millet festival at Chizami Kohima, august 27 (mExN): The North East Network (NEN) Nagaland is organizing millet festival on August on 28 at NEN Resource Centre, Chizami village under Phek district from 10.30 AM onwards. The festival aim to create wider awareness on the importance of millet based agro bio-diverse farming, to celebrate, share and promote the diversity of local crops, food and traditional knowledge systems and to strengthen solidarity amongst ecological farming communities in the state and beyond. The festival will bring together millet farming communities from Nagaland’s Kiphire, Phek and Tuensang districts and representatives from Meghalaya and Manipur.
