Marshall’s flying the flag for Case IH up in the Borders CASE IH has announced the appointment of a new dealer to cover the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland – G Marshall (Tractors). Founded in the late 1970s as an agricultural engineering business, G Marshall (Tractors) is owned by George Marshall and his wife Sheila and is based in St Boswells, Roxburghshire. The couple’s son David has recently joined the company, which operates from purposebuilt dealership facilities on the Charlesfield Industrial Estate. Now it has made a large investment in the Case IH franchise and recruited new staff to support owners with a full sales, service and parts back up service. George Marshall said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Case IH. In this area we have a strong base of farmers who understand the value of investing in new technology, where

knowledgeable dealers with the right advice and products play an important role. “The farming area is one of the best stock areas of the country and we also have some of the best arable land in the UK, mainly operated by larger farming units. This represents a very strong base of existing and potential customers who will benefit from the fact that we now handle the full range of Case IH products. “In addition to Case IH tractors from 55hp to almost 700hp we are also able to offer customers the highly regarded Axial-Flow range of combines, the RBSeries round balers and LB-Series rectangular balers, together with the new Farmlift range of telescopic loaders which were launched at LAMMA 2014.” Case IH area sales manager for northern England and south East Scotland Barry Ward said: “We are delighted to welcome

John Deere Devon dealership changes ownership DEVON and Cornwall based dealership Smallridge Bros Ltd has taken over the John Deere business previously managed by Robert Cole Agricultural Engineers. The business continues to operate from the existing premises on the Holsworthy Industrial Estate, and joins the dealership’s two other outlets at

Barnstaple in Devon and Callington in Cornwall. Smallridge Bros has also retained the majority of Robert Cole’s staff, to ensure continuity of service and support for existing John Deere and other franchise customers. Robert Cole has relocated to another unit on the same business park, and is now specialising in JCB and Krone products. “We are all excited about this new venture, which

links our existing territories at Collabear and Callington and increases our customer base,” said group dealer principal David Smallridge. “It will allow us to build on and improve the service to existing customers through a larger team of sales specialists, a greater stock of machines and parts, and an extra workshop facility from which we can draw resources. “We can also now offer a

wider range of hire options and a more comprehensive demo fleet with a dedicated demonstrator, as well as the services of our TMR (total mixed ration) specialist. As a business we are committed to providing the highest possible standard of service to meet customer demands, and we trust that the benefits of this expansion are soon evident to everyone in our expanded trading area.”
