ยง5-403 VEHICLE: MUFFLER. Every motor vehicle operated within this Municipality shall be provided with a muffler in good working order to prevent excessive or unusual noise or smoke. It shall be unlawful to use a "muffler cut-out" on any motor vehicle upon any streets; provided, the provisions of this section shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles. (Ref. 60-6,371 RS Neb.) ยง5-404 LOADS: PROJECTING. When any vehicle shall be loaded in such a manner that any portion of the load extends more than four feet (4') beyond the rear of the bed or the body of such vehicle, a red flag of not less than twelve inches (12") both in length and width shall be carried by day, and red light after sunset at the extreme rear end of such load. (Ref. 60-243 RS Neb.) Article 5. Bicycles ยง5-501 BICYCLES: EQUIPMENT. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or be in control of a bicycle upon the City streets between the hours of dusk and dawn, unless the same shall be equipped with a lighted lamp on the front thereof visible under normal atmospheric conditions, from a distance of three hundred (300) feet in front of such bicycle and shall also be equipped with a reflecting mirror or lamp on the rear exhibiting a red light visible under like conditions from a distance of at least three hundred (300) feet to the rear of such bicycle. (Ref. 9-1-28, Code 1966) ยง5-502 BICYCLES: PROHIBITED AREAS. It shall be unlawful for any person to ride or drive any bicycle on the sidewalks of that area of the City known as the City Square and those areas extending one (1) block from the four (4) corners of said City Square. Upon apprehension, any person violating this Section shall have his or her bicycle impounded by the Police until any such fine for a violation of this Section levied by the County Court of Johnson County has been paid. Article 6. Minibikes ยง5-601 MINIBIKES: UNLAWFUL OPERATION. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a minibike upon any street or highway within the corporate limits of the Municipality. For purposes of this Article, "minibike" shall mean a two-wheel motor vehicle which has a total wheel and tire diameter of less than fourteen (14) inches or an engine rated capacity of less than forty-five (45) cubic centimeters displacement or a seat height less than twenty-five (25) inches from the ground Ch. 5 Pg. 18
