a perfect combination between contemporary with some traditions,” she said.

Kate Rademeyer, with Loveletter Paper Co., said she recently created a crest for a couple who are both doctors and incorporated the caduceus symbol into it.

We spoke with her about how some of her clients are breaking the mold.

“Most of the couples are blending a lot of classic timeless elements with pops of surprise color or maybe something that is unexpected, for example I just did some beautiful classic invitations that added a bright pop of orange to the edge”

This technique is called edge painting.

Rademeyer said she only works with two paper types.

“Handmade paper is a little more unexpected, handmade paper is made literally by hand; every sheet is unique every sheet is an art form as I see it.”

Her company is unique in that she does all her letter press work in-house.

“My machine is almost 100 years old; I do all the printing in house so I can control the entire process,” she said.

Her advice to couples?

“Your invitations are really setting the rst impression for your wedding so they should be re ective of the kind of wedding you are going to host. Start the process early and allow time for the design process.”
