1617 - LOT OF 2: SPAIN & SWEDEN LICENSE PLATES. Lot consists of: Two unusual plates, in that the International oval signs are included as an integral part of each plate. M 898 is from Sweden, and is made of cast alloy. The B-23515 is from Spain, it is made of a partially translucent plastic, a material similar to a Bakelite, which allows the plate to be illuminated from behind so the numbers may be seen at night. It also has a red plastic disc at the top, further providing safely in the dark. (Excellent). 400 - 800 1618 - LOT OF 3: CHINA LICENSE PLATES. Largest: 13” x 5”. Lot consists of: Three unusual plates from CHINA. The first plate is a temporary plate from the Republic of China (Taiwan), believed to be a 1949 issue, made of thin tin, in excellent condition. The next plate, 25207, appears to be a motorcycle plate from Shanghi, China, valid for the year 1937 (after date conversion to the Anglo calendar), this plate is porcelain and is in superb condition. The last plate is actually a date tab, made to be used on the white on black porcelain Shanghai plates of the 1930’s, this date translates to 1937, the tab is porcelain, and condition is good. (Excellent). 800 - 1,200 1619 - LOT OF 3: POLAND LICENSE PLATES. Largest: 22” x 6”. Lot consists of: Three plates from POLAND. W 23 605 and SL 81 77 are both from the 1919-1935 series, private auto plates. The “W” on the first plate denotes issue in the capital city of Warsaw, and it appears to be a repaint. The “SL” on the second plate denotes issue in the province of Slask. The third plate, H 81 304, is from the 1948-1958 series, “Warszawa” is Polish for the capital Warsaw. 1620 - KATANGA LICENSE PLATE. 12 - 1/4” x 4 - 1/2”. KATANGA plate was used between 1961 and 1963, during the time when the Katanga region of the Belgian Congo declared its independence. A very difficult county to find item, as this country has been obsolete for 56 years. Condition is 9.2. (9.2). 1,200 - 2,000 LOT - 1620
