Case Study

Project scope - Design proposal, supply and installation of 3 classrooms, Science Laboratories and school offices

“Over the past two years I have had the full support and guidance of Morleys, who have supported the school in several projects including the latest community music centre. They provided robust, safe and practical furniture for the new form rooms, as well as furniture in my chemistry labs which I must say look stunning. Their team is always on hand to help and give guidance, especially when tasks are time critical or a difficult request. They will happily send you images or quotes and will always go that little bit further to ensure the school gets the right furniture for the right job. My team and I will carry on working with them as I find their support and customer service exemplary”.

The Brief

How We Delivered

Morleys has held a long-established relationship with the school and assisted with on-going refurbishment work over the last 6 years.

Morleys liaised with on site plumbers and electricians to ensure our fitted Science workstations were installed around mains supply and power points for an immaculate and high quality finish.

Due to the quality of our furniture and customer service we were the natural choice for the school when deciding to undertake a refurbishment of the loose and fixed furniture for a new science block, 3 additional classrooms and school offices. Understanding the busy workings of the school, we needed to accommodate and communicate timings for deliveries to meet specific requirements, which the flexibility of our own team of delivery drivers and warehousing affords us to do. The school were looking to achieve design symmetry and consistency to fit with the look and feel of the school. Learning and office spaces needed to reflect traditional quality with a modern and contemporary edge whilst ensuring long-lasting durability.

FOR EDUCATION

Morleys Interiors is a division of Morleys (Bicester) Ltd www.morleys.co.uk | 01869 320320

Our Morleys exclusive Alpha StacTek stools with their stacking buffers to protect the frame when stacked were supplied to enable the laboratories to be easily cleaned. In keeping with the consistent design throughout the school, we supplied our Morleys exclusive Alpha range of furniture for 3 additional classrooms, Alpha swivel chairs for the teaching staff and office desks, operator chairs and storage for the school offices. We also installed modern and robust pupil lockers for the girls to safely and securely store their belongings. The school has rolled out the Alpha range of classroom tables and chairs because of the stylish cantilever frame guaranteeing strength and durability, and the chairs boasting a distinctive wooden waterfall seat design to provide comfort, prevent rocking and support correct posture. The school has a proud heritage steeped in history and so careful consideration was given to the blend of traditional style meets contemporary design so that furniture within the learning spaces reflects a school of the present and the future.
