Subscribers to streaming services may have observed that upgrades are typically delivered around the beginning of the month. To put it another way, practically everything new on HBO Max debuted on the first of the month. Fortunately, HBO Max does not go dark for the remainder of the month. For example, a new Steven

Soderbergh film, Kimi, premiered as an HBO Max original this week. And it’s merely one of HBO Watch Party top 100 films right now. There’s something for everyone, and your next movie night is only a click away.

Official HBO Watch Party

1. KIMI Kimi, Steven Soderbergh’s latest thriller, is bypassing cinemas in favour of HBO Max. Angela Childs, a coder with crippling agoraphobia, is played by Zoe Kravitz. In essence, she is scared of ever leaving her house. Angela, unfortunately, has a conscience, and she can’t allow a violent crime go unpunished. However, in order to pursue justice, Angela will have to go

outside in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, where she will face potentially violent protestors and those who would rather bury the crime. 2. Slavery for 12 Years You may be surprised to learn that 12 Years a Slave is based on Solomon Northup’s genuine narrative and the book he published about his experience. Solomon (Chiwetel Ejiofor) was a free

Black man kidnapped and sold into slavery in the southern United States in 1841. Solomon is compelled to work for nasty slave masters, including Edwin Epps, despite his protests (Michael Fassbender). Solomon befriends a fellow slave named Patsey (Lupita Nyong’o) while in captivity. Solomon’s chances of ever seeing his wife and children again appear to be dwindling.

3. The Giant of Iron (1999) Brad Bird directed The Iron Giant, an immediate classic among animated pictures, before joining Pixar. The Iron Giant, played by Vin Diesel, is a giant alien robot who befriends a small boy named Hogarth Hughes (Eli Marienthal). Hogarth tries to keep the Giant a secret from his mother, Annie (Jennifer Aniston), but Dean McCoppin, a local beatnik,

becomes a willing partner (Harry Connick Jr.). Unfortunately, paranoid government agent Kent Mansley (Christopher McDonald) will go to any length to eliminate the behemoth, regardless of the consequences. 4. March of the Penguins The Penguin March is an annual event that takes place in March (2005) March of the Penguins is a

stunningly shot documentary about the life of emperor penguins in Antarctica. Even if it meant walking 70 kilometres to acquire food, these birds brave the bitter cold to mate and then defend and feed their babies. The penguins’ open displays of sorrow and anguish in response to the loss of their young are possibly the most stunning aspect of the film. Despite the odd touch of tragedy, the coldest spot on

Earth is full of love and optimism. 5. Nightmare Alley The is a place where nightmares come true (2021) Guillermo del Toro’s modern adaptation of Nightmare Alley steers clear of fantasy and science fiction. Stanton “Stan” Carlisle, played by Bradley Cooper, is a man who learns the art of cold reading after joining a carnival. Stan’s aptitude allows him to impersonate a medium, leading some desperate people to believe he possesses psychic abilities. Soon later, Stan is approached by psychiatrist Lilith Ritter (Cate Blanchett), who offers to deceive the wealthy and

powerful Judge Kimball (Peter MacNeill). Stan soon discovers, however, that Lilith may be a better con artist than he is. He’s also the target.
