Dr. Nathan Carter, the world celebrated conductor, composer, and arranger who served as Chairperson of the Department of Fine Arts, was the choir’s director for 34 years until his death on July 15, 2004. Dr. Carter and the Morgan State University Choir toured St. Petersburg, Russia, with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra just months prior to his passing.

As if to provide a fitting highlight to an already illustrious career, Reader’s Digest, in its May 2004 issue, named the MSU Choir “America’s Best College Choir.” o

You can bring the concert of the Morgan State University Choir to your very own living room. Maryland Public Television is now offering one of its most popular pledge gifts nationally, on VHS and now for the first time, on DVD. The DVD and VHS are available only through public television stations nationwide as pledge gifts.
